General Trading Principles

The General Trading Principles are the general rules that should be followed when trading, keeping trading fair and enjoyable for all members. All transactions on The Bell Tree should be straightforward and honest, and each user must agree to the transaction in its entirety. Members are responsible for clearly communicating all terms of a transaction (e.g., what is being exchanged, quantities, prices, or conditions). All transactions should take place either publicly or privately on the forum. Transactions that originate off-site are not usually moderated. All forum rules apply throughout the transaction, not just those relating to Forum & Game Transactions.

To avoid confusion and unnecessary bumping, trading threads should be locked by the thread starter once they are no longer trading. Members should only post in trading threads in which they intend to participate. Buyers and sellers should aim to respond promptly and avoid canceling transactions unnecessarily.

Trading Boards

Transactions should be made in the board that corresponds to the type of items being exchanged, regardless of the currency used:

Leaving Feedback

The feedback system may be used to provide feedback on any forum transaction. Feedback should be factual, relate to a specific transaction, and avoid personal attacks, exaggerated claims, or retaliation. Feedback may be removed at staff discretion if it violates forum rules, contains false information, or if the feedback relates to a transaction that did not occur on-site.

In-game trade disputes (e.g., unfulfilled trades, backing out, disagreements, or partial delivery of items) should be addressed through the feedback system. Staff cannot recover or replace in-game items or currency, nor can they verify the outcome of in-game trades.

Fraudulent transactions involving forum collectibles or TBT Bells should be reported through the Contact the Staff board or the Report feature. Staff may review the transaction, reverse transfers of TBT Bells, return forum items, and/or take action against accounts that abuse the trading system. Potential outcomes may include warnings, bans, and/or the removal of TBT Bells or forum items.
