Trading
Communicate clearly and honestly in all trades or commissions. Fulfill promises and communicate delays where possible. Do not interfere with another user’s trading thread, including policing prices, advertising a competing deal, or criticizing someone else’s proposed offer. Only post in the thread if you are interested in trading with the user who created the thread.
Examples of behaviors that are not allowed:
- Posting in someone else’s thread to say, “That’s overpriced.” or “You can get that cheaper elsewhere.”
- Responding to a user’s offer in a thread that isn’t yours (e.g., “I’ll sell it to you for less!”)
- Pressuring another user to trade when they’ve declined or they are undecided
- Agreeing to a trade, but then not following through with your side of the deal
Examples of behaviors that are allowed:
- Asking about an item or price before confirming a trade
- Declining a trade respectfully
- Posting in a thread to offer or negotiate a trade directly with the thread creator
- Letting a trading partner know that you can no longer carry out a transaction
Public Blacklisting
Publicly blacklisting other users is not allowed on The Bell Tree. However, you may use the feedback system to leave feedback for in-game, forum collectible, and art transactions. Your feedback does not need to be positive, but it does need to be civil.
Examples of behaviors that are not allowed:
- Creating a thread, post, or profile post to warn others about another user (e.g., “Don’t trade with [X], they’re a scammer!”)
- Naming or hinting at a user publicly while complaining about a transaction
- Using the feedback system to leave insults or retaliate (e.g., “They’re an idiot… Don’t trade with them…”)
- Posting about negative on-site trade experiences in unrelated thread
Examples of behaviors that are allowed:
- Leaving a neutral or negative feedback rating that describes your experience factually (e.g., “The trade was completed eventually, but they cancelled on me twice and communication was slow.”)
- Leaving feedback for in-game transactions or forum collectible transactions
- Leaving feedback for art transactions that happened on-site through direct messages or the Museum Shop
