Making repeated, unwanted comments directed at an individual based on their identity is not allowed. Dismissing or invalidating someone's identity is also not allowed. [📄 See full Respectful Conduct policy ]
Using vague wording or coded terms for discriminatory or bigoted content is still a violation of this rule. Claiming that a remark is "just a joke" does not excuse discriminatory language.
To participate in the community, members must not engage in discriminatory or bigoted behavior towards other members or broader groups of people outside the forum. Individuals who are known to be clearly and intentionally promoting bigotry will be banned. Individuals who use other problematic language will have their content removed with an official explanation from the moderators, and subsequent posts will be monitored more closely. Our goal is to help members understand how their phrasing may come across, while ensuring that confirmed hateful individuals are kept out of the community.
If you come across content that you believe may be discriminatory against a person or group, please use the report feature so the moderators can review it. Do not try to handle the situation yourself by publicly arguing with the content's author, as they may be deliberately provoking debate to help promote bigoted views. At the same time, false accusations of bigotry can lead to dogpiling and intimidation, which is also harmful. [📄 See full Respectful Conduct policy ] For these reasons, community leaders are responsible for mediating between members, making final judgments, removing harmful content, and posting official stances. Only the moderators can determine whether content violates the rules and what actions, if any, are necessary.
