Not sure if a thread like this has been made yet, but if it has a mod can lock this.

Anywho, it's beginning to be the middle of the year and I bet people are wondering what next Pokemon main game might be released in the fall, if any at all this year? I'd imagine they might leak some info about it at E3, but I decided to make a thread like this anyway. What do you think is the next new Pokemon main game they will release be? Could it be...

Pokemon Z with Zygarde as the mascot
Pokemon Delta Emerald with Rayquaza as the mascot
Generation 7 games
Something completely different from the above

This thread is purely for speculating what the next Pokemon main game in the series might be, so post all your comments and conversation about it here. :)

I've also added a poll to better reflect the thread.

I could honestly see it being Z or X2/Y2 (though a little less likely, given the three dimensions X, Y and Z). A lot of people probably feel that the generation is incomplete, so not having it would be disappointing.

Delta Emerald won't happen. If it was I doubt they'd have given Ray a mega in ORAS. Plus, I'm not really that keen on the idea of a remake of a remake, per say. That said, I think it'll either be XY2 or Z, I don't really care which - though I think Z is more likely due to Zygarde's unused attacks, but it's entirely possible for them to do an XY2, (and honestly, I don't car which path they take, I couldn't care less) I'm just saying that whatever they do, Zygarde will likely get a big focus, hence why I don't think they're doing Delta Emerald.

I know it's a stretch, but I see the next main series game being a mix between XY and ORAS. I just think there are a lot of similarities between the two that seem too intentional to slip by. Firstly, the three mascot Pokemon of each game (Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde + Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza) all share the same blue/red/green color scheme. And both third version mascots (Zygarde and Rayquaza) are both green, both serpent like, both dragon type with a closely affiliated secondary type (as in, ground and flying are complementary as ground doesn't affect flying, so it's not just some random typing like Water and Flying or something which has little to no similarity), and of course, in their gens first games (RS and XY), they had very little to do plot wise, and are essentially randomly placed legendary Pokemom you "stumble" upon, which don't get any depth until the next game (in Rayquaza's case at least, Zygarde is only speculation based on the events of XY). Of course very minor, but the Hoenn region has the most amount of Pokemom capable of mega evolving. Those small similarities, as well as the Battle Frontier missing from ORAS, and seemingly being hinted at in the game (because let's face it, it's not becoming DLC), are what make me think that XY2 or Z will kind of be like Gold, Silver and Crystal, which has ties to a previous region - whether or not you can actually go to the Hoenn region, or just the Battle Frontier I don't know, but going to Hoenn seems pointless since we could do that in ORAS, so just the Battle Frontier makes more sense.

And I don't think we'll get an announcement until late this year, early next year - then details at E3, with a late 2016 release. I would've thought they'd announce it this year, but with Super PMD slated to release late this year/early next (depending on your region), it would really affect sales if they were to announce a main series game this far before it's release.

Anywho, that's just my thoughts on what they're going to do with it. I really don't care what they do though, I'll buy it and love it anyway. I play pokemon for the experience and replayability, not for the plot.

I honestly hope it's Z, I feel like Kalos has a lot more potential.

I want the next game to be kinda like Johto in all the new things it brings to the table. We got berries, hold items, day/night (which isn't affecting the game as much as it should be), and a hundred new Pokemon. If you ask me, I think the new game should really think outside the box.

Haven't you ever wanted to climb a mountain in Pokemon with Mightyena by your side? Or use Dig to tunnel through rock to where Groudon lay? Or maybe you would rather explore a jungle on foot, swinging your machete back and forth with the touch screen, as you hunt for Celebi. Perhaps instead, you'd like to join a room of 15 other people who are all trading back and forth, like Pictochat for Pokemon. Forget getting two regions in one game. That's old news. There's so much more Game Freak can do with Pokemon.

And that's not even taking amiibo into consideration. What if, instead of going to a Pokemon center and getting a Mew from a dude who sits behind a desk, you could get an exclusive Mew amiibo, scan him into your New 3DS, and keep the amiibo. Your friends can come over and scan Mew into their game as well. So long as the game recognizes that it can only scan that Mew once, it'll work.

I dont see Z/XY2 happening tbh. It would be cool, but I dont see it happening. Maybe it will though. I think it will be a new generation. Hopefully with a decent post game

I agree with what everybody is saying about Pokemon Z... Although why would they make ORAS instead of it? As far as I'm aware I don't believe there are two different studios making Pokemon games, which leads me to the small doubt I have about Pokemon Z... Especially since this year they are releasing the next PMD and not a traditional Pokemon game. Who knows, those reasons are just some of the things that come to mind when we speculate on Pokemon Z, which I have seen many times after X/Y came out. Though, what other game WOULD they make. Certainly not another remake I'd hope. Red/Blue/Green I don't believe are good enough for a remake, and the other gameboy games have already been remade at this point. So from what I'm hearing/seeing, there's either going to be a completely original idea or Pokemon Z...

Seeing as my post got removed.

Basically, TL;DR

That's like saying why did they make Soul Silver and Heart Gold if they were going to make Platinum. The Gen 4 games were Diamond/Pearl, Ss/HG and then Platinum.

Your argument confuses me.

The reason your post got removed was probably because it was spam, and you literally wrote "TL:DR" (and further more why would you post it again if it had been removed). If you can't be bothered reading other peoples posts, then what the **** are you doing on a forum LOL.

I think they will release X2 and Y2 because there are 2 games left for Gen VI. The basis of this statement comes from the fact that the Gen 6 Pentagon appears on Pokemon originating from games with the game ID from 26-31. X and Y are assigned the numbers 26 and 27 whereas OR and AS are assigned the numbers 28 and 29 which leaves 30 and 31 without games yet so 2 more games left for Gen VI. One could argue that the two games left would be Z and Delta Emerald, but they can't release those games in the same year because they won't sell as well. We can also see that there is only one event Pokemon that wasn't officially revealed yet which is Volcanion, so if they don't release a game this year, they'd have to release both games next year seeing from the past that they realease 1 event Pokemon each year. Since nothing is announced yet for this year, I believe that the next games would be X2/Y2.

7Gen as game 32.

New Types, new mechanics, new Gym Leader ideas, new Megas, actual EVOLUTIONS to previous Pokemon for once, and more.

Y'all are forgetting that first we had Ruby and Sapphire, and then we had two remakes, FireRed and LeafGreen, and then we got the "third" game, Emerald.
