So I have been very self-conscious about posting my drawings on here...mainly since I can only draw Pokemon xD. But I was looking for advice. Right now all I have is a picture of Charizard I drew and I just want people to let me know if it's good or bad! Right now I can only do traditional art since I don't have a tablet to draw on.

I know it's not good haha >.< But just let me know if it would be worth it to make a free art thread xP

Not good? THat looks great ^_^ I cant draw at all, haha, I think your drawing is wonderful! Totally worth it!

That's pretty good. Better than me for sure. I can draw well but my proportioning is horrid, but you were spot-on.

This looks very nice! The drawing is clean and it has good proportions and nice colors! Don't worry about it if you'd like to open a shop.
Though I have one question, and I'm by no means trying to offend you, did you draw this image from imagination/reference or was it traced? My opinion of how good it looks won't change depending on your answer. I hope you don't think my question is rude.
I'd love to see other examples of the pokemon you've drawing! It's certainly a better charizard than I could manage.

It was from a reference x3 My little brother was watching the older Pokemon episodes and I decided I would try to draw it aha It took forever though xD

I don't play Pok?mon, but overall it looks good (and cute)! Even if you used a reference, you'll get used to drawing characters without one if you keep practicing. :)

I can only do traditional art, too. My digital art needs a lot of work...

It does look good, but I have to assume it's traced off of this image:

I am all for using references while learning and sincerely apologize if that's what you did, but it does appear to be traced.

Lol, I didn't trace it, I can promise that. But I did use that as my reference xD Whether or not you believe me is up to you

That's pretty good. If you have some sort of program to edit the image, you can make the background whiter. I think it would make the drawing look more presentable.

Personally, as a professional artist, I think people would prefer to see/buy things that have their own unique style. Using reference is great as a resource, but not if the final image is almost an exact replica of the original. Not to say it's not a good way to learn, just not something you should try to repost as "your own." :)

Oh, yeah I can see you used that image to help you! There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think you should expand a bit on that idea! All good artists had to learn somehow! While you should make sure your art is in your own style, which you will no doubt develop over time, don't forget that you can also borrow ideas from other artists.
As sad as it sounds, no idea is unique. That doesn't mean you should copy their piece directly, though! I encourage you to look through galleries of art and see what they did that worked, what might look good in your own drawing, and what you would do differently.
It's okay to borrow bits and pieces of reference and poses from multiple sources to help you create your own art, especially when you're first starting out. And it's also okay to copy art, or even trace it when you're first starting out. No one should judge you for it. But keep in mind that you should NEVER claim art you copied or traced as your own. Don't take credit for other people's work. Use it to help you improve and draw things you can call your own!
Or, if looking at other people's artwork doesn't help, try and find references from photos that help you with your idea! If you're drawing a cat-like creature, google images for cats! This applies to anything you want to draw. Dragons? Look at lizards! Angels? Humans and birds! It goes on!

I truly hope this will help you get your own hold on art! Don't give up, despite how discouraging it may be!

It looks good, but I'd advise trying to use the reference as more of a reference and less of something that you basically duplicated as you get better. (Notice how I didn't say trace.)

No, no don't you worry! I'm not mad, I understand!
Though next time, maybe you should source the original artwork, so there are no misunderstandings.
