If you're trolled on the island, you can flip the wifi switch and get out of there (unless you have a 2DS). Now, with the New 3DS, the wifi switch will be on the Home menu, which you can't access from the island. I guess multiplayer island visits will be even rarer for me once I have a New 3DS.

Animal Crossing trolls are weird. I wouldn't mind since, tbh, it's sort of entertaining xD But I won't be getting a 2DS or a new 3DS so I won't be dealing with this. :l

Thank god I got the original 3DS in time (they cancelled it, can you believe it?)

Yup found out about this when the New 3DS was first announced. This was the first thing that came to my mind.

Same here.

Although if it ever came down to it, I'd have no problem flipping my router switch on and off. Mine doesn't take very long to switch itself back on anyhow and it's within easy reach :p

I honestly don't care if I get Animal Crossing trolls on the island. Say if I were using a "New 3DS". I don't want to experience trolls, so I would probably turn off the router. It's not that hard, except when other people are using wifi as well. In that case, you might have to deal with it, or attempt to get off of the island. Maybe Nintendo will try to make the home screen accessible on the island in a new firmware update, That's always something to speculate.

Oh snap, never heard. Well I have no plans to get a New 3DS, so I actually am not concerned or raising an eyebrow to it in concern in the slightest.

I'm not buying your pricey new 3DS, Nintendo.
don't play me like this.

I'm not concerned, either, but it's good to know. I have a husband who constantly surprises me with things, so just because I told him I don't need a new 3DS he may get me one, anyway. After all, I now have an original, a 3DSXL, and his old 3DSXL. And now, between him and my nephews I have 6 ACNL games!

Wow...talk about being overly lucky...

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. That's a good thing to keep in mind.

What's the difference between the current and new? Probably nothing, just them trying to make money. Glad most of us here probably won't be wasting our money on the new 3DS unless you break yours.

It looks to be the same in terms of functionality, and I'm not a fan of how they moved around the buttons (like for volume).
But I love everything shiny and new... owo

I won't be buying the new 3DS ^.^ I love my ACNL one way too much. And with a long distance relationship, I just can't afford to have multiple 3DS's.
Xenoblade looks nice and I like RPG's, but if they wanna make it available for the new 3DS only, then I guess I'll have to pass.

But what if next year they release a new AC game and it only works on the new 3DS? That is my biggest fear with the new 3DS, that the game series i like will only work on new 3ds

i won't be surprised if Pokemon Gen 7 is New 3ds exclusive.

Also the problem isn't just on the island right? I mean if I go to your town as part of a trade or something, and I suddenly take all your hybrids, you can't flip wifi switch anymore?

That's a good point, I really hope they don't do that.
I was delayed in getting acNL because it was just too pricey at the time to spring for a game and a 3DS.
I really hope they don't, so I can get the new one on time.
Sighhh college is expensiiiiveeee T_T

Yeah... I'm not getting the New 3DS. And if they release the next Animal Crossing for that exclusively, I'll be wicked angry. I don't want to keep dumping money on new consoles because a game I really want is release for that console only. Maybe the next AC won't be that different, and people will still stick with New Leaf for a while...

And maybe pigs will fly, I know. >.<

If they do, and the system is more of a problem than it's worth then I won't buy it ^.^ I love Animal Crossing, but it's a product. If the new system isn't to my liking and gives the new Animal Crossing game problems, then I just won't buy it. I'll sit out and wait for Nintendo to get it right. At the end of the day Nintendo products are just simply not a priority to me. I have school to worry about, travels to plan and a life to enjoy. Gaming is just a side thing to me that I do for entertainment and enjoyment. If Nintendo is ****ing up and not putting out anything I'd be interested in, then I'll move on :). I'll still have plenty of PC gaming left.
This new system is a joke. I haven't seen much about it but it looks exactly the same as the 3DS XL but with some extra features that could've probably been implemented with an update. I bought the 3DS and the ACNL game because they were both new and had plenty to offer. This new system reminds me of the Wii U, which I also didn't purchase and I'm glad I didn't.
