Even though I said not to post Spoilers I waited till after I saw the movie to make this lol

Star wars *the last Jedi* imo was literally the best movie yet and twice or even three times a good if you aren't spoiled!

this movie was sooo perfect! It had twists and turns and the best moments in starwars cenematic history!
Just how it all played out was WONDERFUL! especially * snoke to Kylo telling him to kill Rey * Yess... I can see nothing but total resolve. You're turning the lightsaber to strike down your true foe...

AND THEN the hyperdrive telefrag was so perfectly done! Like I can't describe how much I loved it in written form! It's just not possible!

Ps porgs are better then minions

I haven't seen the film but I've already spoiled this one for myself because everyone I loved is dead, basically.

Star wars does not deserve a general thread.
Or Harry potter for that matter.
I'm just a sado. Oh well

I saw it yesterday. It was good! My only thing is that

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the love triangle it looks like they're setting up between Finn/Rey/Rose (and it looked like Kyle Ren too there for about but... lmao). I don't mind either of them getting with Finn, I'm just not a big fan of love triangles, and then setting it up so near the end of the trilogy is kind of :///

Also I just don't know what they're going to do now? Like they killed Luke and I'm guessing their aim was to at least have Leo's start out Episode IX and then probably die (since a big thing is leaving the past behind to forge your own path), but with Carrie gone idk how they're gonna manage it without a weird offscreen death. :( I don't see her not being in it at all, it's just be too weird.

ALSO also I totally thought Kylo and Rey were gonna be siblings, so all that tension surrounding her parents there in the middle kind of let me down haha. Unless he was lying to her and she was manipulated by it. He's clearly very powerful, and while Rey is too she's not very well trained.

My main thought too was "who is even alive to antagonize? Kylo ren and hux? " While they are reasonable villans we were killing off villans like this was the End of Ix! Hmm...

The fact that Kylo and Rey are Not twins was surprising, Well generally till Snoke reveled to have set them up.....

Ps when "in loving memory of our princess Carrie fisher" everyone ( or a lot ) started clapping ( including me ) it was beautiful but sad.....

I think Leia will probably be put on a hyperdrive-enabled-ship of you know what I mean and form the republic with minor cameos

Lmao I just noticed my phone autocorrected Kylo Ren to Kyle Ren.

I actually feel like that was kind of the point, though. Snoke being the equivalent of Darth Sidious was really just a red herring. Kylo Ren has been the true villain all along, and honestly in some ways he's more dangerous cause he can't get a grasp on his emotions.

I think that was also the thinking behind Rey's parents being nobody. Like in the end it doesn't really matter who they are, and I think they were just doing stuff like that to make callbacks to the original trilogy before deconstructing them.

Going to see The Last Jedi in a bit! :)

Edit: I'm quite disappointed really. :( It was quite confusing, and when it wasn't, you could tell what was going to happen a mile off. (With that said, the
beginning battle scene was very cool
as was
Rey and Kylo versus the Praetorian Guard
, and the Porgs are adorable and funny. :))

Starting from the beginning:

Okay, so Leia can fly now?
Who is this Rose girl? What is her importance to the plot? Oh, to be Finn's love interest. But why can't be Rey's? Oh yeah, that's right, because of Rey x Kylo... Rose was so poorly developed that I didn't even feel sad when she died. She was just a plot device.
So how does it work that somehow the guy with the red lapel that they were just about to get to is not the code-breaker, and it just conveniently happens to be the guy in the cell when they get captured? Just... Disney...
The Snoke scene... just a huge rip-off of Return of the Jedi. His death was so clich?. And speaking of which, why did he die? At least give us a backstory! I wanted to see more of him. He was cool. A rip-off of the Emperor, yes, but still cool.
Why did Captain Phasma die? Again, yet another character I wanted to see more of but died. She was a bit rubbish in The Force Awakens, but she is literally one of the only good things in The Last Jedi.
WHY IN THE NAME OF THE ALMIGHTY FORCE DID LUKE DIE?! Phew, I'm sorry, but that just fires me up. There is literally no reason for him to die. There is all the reason in the galaxy for Leia to die, though. Her actor is dead (RIP :(), so why isn't she?!
That ending… I am so confused.
Verdict: It is painfully obvious that Rian Johnson is a bad director for Star Wars. 'Nuff said.
Help us, J.J. Abrams. You're our last hope...
That was a cheap shot.
Score: 6/10

Edit: Please disregard all the negative things I have just said. I realise now that in a way, Luke's death is a good thing, because it allows people my age (the prequels generation) to experience the new generation of Star Wars.

If you are an original trilogy purist, I would suggest you look at this article:

I LOVED it! I don't understand the hate for it at all, this is the best star wars film since the empire strikes back hands down.
It didn't feel like any other star wars film before it, but it still felt like star wars. and that's a good thing.
It defied all my expectations and delivered far beyond. Around the midway point I just started gaping at the screen, because I genuinely had no idea what was going to happen next.
I was completely enthralled and I loved every minute of it

Rose was a wonderful character and she made an excellent addition to the cast.
I loved the casino arc too! I didn't think it went on for too long at all and it was nice to see the upscale side of the star wars verse, which we don't see a lot of. and besides that it served plenty of purpose to the main plot.

I loved how Luke was characterized and I thought he met his demise perfectly. It was a completely satisfying and well deserved end to the character.

I loved Poe in this movie and how he learned from his mistakes. and also: that scene where Laura Durn's character sacrificed herself by going lightspeed through the first order's ship..... OMG

But by far my favorite part was kylo ren slicing snoke in half and fighting alongside Rey

Leia flying through the air was kinda corny, that didn't need to be there and neither did that scene of Rey in the mirror or whatever.

so yeah, I had a blast and I plan on going to see it again!

Shirtless kylo had me shook but it was so good

Um why would people need to put their comments in spoilers? If you
don’t want it spoileddont view the thread. That’s just my two cents.

honestly, i was really looking forward to tlj and was so disappointed. i think people have very mixed opinions and it seems like an either you love it or hate it kind of film - personally, i hated it.

Idk if I would call it the best but I also don't really understand the hate for it; there were some things I didn't enjoy but overall I thought it was a solid film. :( I think some people are going way too far by petitioning for it to be struck from the canon tho lmao.

I do agree with the weird Leia scene, though, and I didn't like the opening scene between Hux and Poe. It might've been funny if it had been just a quick little exchange, but they dragged it out for far too long imo. Other than that I like Rose? /unpopularopinion

Tbh, most of the humor in the movie fell kinda flat for me.

TLJ featured a scene with Luke milking a dinosaur and somehow Leia's space adventure turned out to be the weirdest part.

Leia's always been force sensitive, but if there was a way for it to manifest itself physically, boy that was not it.

Everything was already ruined for me by a comment on a totally unrelated post on facebook... Sometimes I really hate the internet. I know my boyfriend really wants to see it, but we haven't seen the last two movies so we'd have to do some catching up. I hear mixed things on it. Mostly good, but also some mega nerd friends of mine have given it a "Meh." so I might just wait for it to hit DVD...

Oh I don't know, hmm, Oh yeah, maybe because people want to talk about it before they see it. Seems really logical to me.

Every complaint I have seen about this movie makes no sense to me. What on Earth is wrong with people?

Star wars does not deserve a general thread.
Or Harry potter for that matter.
I'm just a sado. Oh well

Everything can deserve it's own thread, especially a popular topic like Star Wars or Harry Potter.

I saw the movie tonight, and I thought it was excellent!! and I agree it's one of the best Star Wars movies yet.

I think the director did a great job redeeming the crap plot handed to him from the last movie. If you didn't like The Last Jedi overall, then i feel you should place the blame on Episode VII.

one of my favorite parts:

Yoda!!! c'mon, admit it-- you all loved seeing the little green guy back, didn't ya?

my thoughts on the topics raised in some of the earlier posts in this thread:

I wasn't disappointed about the apparent shifting away from a Finn-Rey love interest; I was disappointed in the shifting away from a Finn-Poe love story....

I thought Luke's apparent transformation was fitting. Especially if, as the plot was written, he was not as powerful as Kylor Ren or even Rey. He can can become more powerful the way Obi Wan Kenobi did...

I wasn't disappointed that Snoke died, but man we never found out much about him, did we? who was he? where was he during Episodes I through VI? I guess that will all be explained in the next film...

some of the other characters may not be dead-- Phasma for instance... Rose looks like she's gonna be back...

i think Finn and Rose did find the right code-breaking guy... my impression is that Maz is force-sensitive, so she probably envisioned the way they would meet up...

i too thought Rey and Kylo would wind up being siblings, but i don't think that's in the works (unless Kylo was adopted by Leia and Han, hmm....). Leia would have surely said something by now about it to Rey, don't you think??

keep in mind, we never got any explanation for Anakin Skywalker's true parentage, so we may not for Rey either; altho since it is a plot point i feel we will get an explanation in the next movie...

Luke and Leia are twins, but man was anyone else struck by how much older Carrie Fisher looked than Mark Hamill??? she did not look good imo, i wonder if she was in physical distress even back then...

hmmm it seems that, even tho Kylo does have some internal conflicts about good v evil, i don't think Snoke had to convert him as much as had been previously suggested....

not sure how they will do it, but Leia's gonna have to die i guess in the next movie-- maybe she confronts Kylo and triggers a bomb or orders an airstrike that takes out both she and K.Ren...

anyone else looking forward to more of good bb8 versus bad First Order bb8??
