what flowers look best around a metal bench?

just as the title says

more along darker colors, like purple or blue. maybe blue pansies or purple tulips? what do you guys suggest?

I'd say white roses/tulips and blue roses/tulips or purple pansies.

I have pink lillies and pink cosmos around mine, with blue violets in the corners.

I have white and orange lilies around mine and think it looks very pretty. If you are set on purple and blue, definitely the pansies would look beautiful.
