What is the correct time for this?

I am trying to catch a bag worm but I'm not sure about what time they are out. The websites say all day and some also have 5pm-8am. The videos I've seen all show them being caught at night. Now to me all day means daylight hours not after dark so maybe that is adding to my confusion. So can someone please give me the correct time for the bag worm please? I know they aren't as easy to get as in past games I just want to be sure I am searching for them when they are actually available. Thanks

It's a 24 hours bug. The guide that I use says it's better in November and December. It has 8am to 7pm as the peak times but you can still catch them all the time.

Just use your net to hit the tree, saves shaking all your fruit off, I have recently caught one.

I've also been struggling to catch one, ugh. Guess I'll wait until november...

The only way it's ever worked for me is to shake the tree and, when the "sproing" sound is heard, trigger the net so it doesn't hit the tree directly. Sometimes, I can see the bug drop on a thread, like a spider.
