Upcoming Bug Off

So I've searched around and everything seems to be pretty outdated (Thonky, IGN... etc) when it comes to preparing for the Bug Off on Saturday. Anyone have any tips on how to get the most amount of furniture and maintain the win for the trophy?

Go to the island in the evening ahead of time and fill your closet with beetles. Make note of which beetles are what size and give them to him smallest to biggest, starting from the Goliath Beetles and saving the Horned Hercules and Golden Stags for the very end. You should be able to get a decent amount of furniture that way. Winning is easy with this method.

So I shouldn't bother with any bug or than just beetles for furniture?

If you're playing solo - go to the island the night before and stock up on the more expensive beetles.

However, the easiest way by far to get all the furniture is to go to a friend's town on the day of the bug off. Again, stock up the night before but leave everything in your storage at the boardwalk. Then take out your bugs when you visit your friend's town and mop up.

The reason is you only get furniture if you beat the current record in your own town, but you get furniture every time you go above the record in a friend's town.

That sounds like an amazing idea, I do have two 3ds and copies.
