I have a theory that PWP pings have changed slightly since the update.
TEST IT OUT:
1. Load your town
2. Get a villager ping - DENY ping
3. TT to anytime in 2050
4. Talk to villagers again - welcome back!
5. - There is a greater chance for a PWP ping. It can happen right away after you talk to a villager, or it may take a day. But the chances for PWP pings definitely increase after you've been away for awhile.
6. After you get the ping, you can TT back to whatever date you wish.
In multiple towns I have gotten at least 5 different pings since the WA update.
Test it out, report back.
Maybe this will help fellow mayors who haven't had a ping in awhile.
