I have been striking out in finding amiibo RV cards around here, and most of the online sales are way too much for what I want to pay. I found a seller on Ebay who had an unopened box (20 sealed packs) of the Japanese cards. That meant 60 cards, total, and the price was quite reasonable, so I took a shot.

Out of the 60 cards, I ended up with a full set and the extra 10 are single repeats. I really was expecting to get 1/2 or maybe 3/4 of the set and have to go hunting for the remainder. Guess it was my lucky day!

that's so lucky omg- congratulations!! i love getting my acnl packages in the mail, and it's even better that you got a good outcome

I've just ordered my first set of amiibo cards and I'm so excited for them to arrive!

Wow, that's really lucky! TBH I'd love to use amiibo cards but I don't have a reader for them or the 3DS that has them as an extra feature implemented in it already, so I'm just hoping to buy an reader or be given on for my birthday, since it's not too far away, or even Christmas. I've got like 2 amiibo cards but there's absolutely no point in me trying to get anymore until I have a reader so I can actually use them.

Thanks, everyone! It was fun to open all the packs - kind of like your birthday or a holiday. :)

It really was a lucky box. Now if I could only get that lucky with Series 1-4. LOL

Haha yeah good luck! In case you didn't know there is a trading forum on here. You could start trading your extra WA cards for some series 1-4 cards, and once you start buying packs and getting duplicates you can add those to your trading thread too. I got many of mine through trades on here! It's pretty fun to trade and go check the mail and see what cards came that day. :D enjoy!

The packaging is SUUPER awesome, and the cards themself are beautiful. I only have 6 cards right now but once you get them you won't be disappointed ;)

That's awesome! Yeah, I run into the same problem. People just want too much for the cards right now. BUT, I did find a really neat seller on Etsy that makes replica cards. One of the things she sells is a full set of the sanrio cards (all 6) for 30 bucks! That's a steal. I was seeing on Ebay that some were selling just one or two cards for 70-150 bucks. That's NOT gonna happen. Bahaha. Glad you lucked out! :)

I got a set of Sanrio cards off of Etsy, as well. I think I paid around $25, so that sounds right. They work great and look nice. I got another set, from a different seller, of the Zelda and Splatoon cards, plus a Wisp for a really good price. Those are very heavy-duty and beautiful!

I guess the deals are out there, if you are willing to wade through the high prices to find them.

When you buy a full box of amiibo cards from Japan you get a full set of cards with some repeats. They did that for Series 1 to the Welcome Amiibo cards.

In NA they finally did it for the Welcome Amiibo cards. I bought a full box that was preordered for me in Canada. Opened the box and had a complete set with 10 repeats. Wished they did it for Series 1 to 4. Buy a box and you complete the set would have been nice.

I wasn't aware of that. Good to know, though. I don't really mind the Japanese names, so that might be something to look for with other series.

Oh, that's awesome! I didn't see any Zelda ones. Mostly just rando villagers or Sanrio. I'll have to do some more looking. I have a lot of the Zelda amiibos already, though. But, I wouldn't mind Ganon and Medli. Ha. :)

Congrats! That's really awesome. I don't play with amiibos but a kind member here sent me one of my favourite villager (THANKS KNIGHT!! :D) and it's making me itch for more just to collect!
