They weren't communist, they were socialist and their goal was to become fully communist, but they never made it to that point.
No country has ever been fully communist.

I'd still call them communist but they technically weren't. Communism/socialism didn't cause the millions of deaths, it was the selfish, greedy leaders that did.

Why was it that every state that became communist participated in Mass killings against people they deemed the enemy? Why is it that communism only works when you're pointing a gun at someone?

Starving millions of people is a small price to pay for the good of the party, am I right?

Must be the pro-human rights/decency answers I gave when it came to the social issues questions.
 
I thought there would be more variation but the second most popular (centre) has only about half of what left got.
 
By USA standards I'm probably "far left", by other standards I might be considered a moderate. I fall socially very left by US standards.
 
Lot of libbies on this forum, apparently.

I consider myself in the not going to say. I'm an independent, though.
