How to pronounce Deirdre?

It's an Irish name, so it's pronounced Deer-druh or maybe in some accents Deer-drah.

I pronunce it as "Deir-dree" If I know that it's wrong, I always pronunce it like that! :)
 
I would not have expected "dra" given it is spelled "dre". The only ways I can find to pronounce that would be "dree" or "de". What is the "e" doing there if the sound is actually an "a"?
 
I say 'Deer Dray'. I never though of it as having another pronunciation, but now I'm slightly unsure. :p
