Alright so you got your common acnl themes. It's mostly food, plants, and cutesy. I think every room has at least one of these incorporated. This is mostly because the details make the rooms interesting. Yes, you can have all one furniture set but... what else? We have a tendency to clutter things I've noticed, but by placing things on the walls and perhaps only 1 thing on tables we can make ourselves a little bit more minimalistic. Haha those are just my basic design tips for a good room.
Basements are for horror! No light shines and there is only one escape! Whatever your house is, go for the opposite. Plants? Make it dead. Food? Make it a 'storage room' of containers with nothing on top of them. Cutesy? DARK. Experiment with lighting in the basement, use this to your advantage. A green glow for radiation, a soft purple for a broken heart, and of course, red for the best of sins.
I realize I wrote a lot now haha. It's not because I desperately want to win (i mean... its up to you
) it's because I would LOVE to see what you do! So I hope you update your DA when it's all done! Thanks for reading all the way~

For the basement you can try with a little indoor garden, with brightful colors and garden table for drinking tea and relax, colors like white, pink, yellow or green, will be adorable!
In the right room will be cute a room for kids! Toys, Joy and Colors!
And for the main room cute and classic modern living room!

i think, for the main room, instead of making the typical living room, you could build something for your town residents! i did this w my main room too- it's a minimalist, plant-y art classroom, bc my mayor has a side job teaching art to my town residents! you could do something like that, or similar public town spaces are: public library (lots of bookshelves, strapped books, couches, and classic desks), classroom (i suggest putting a more unique spin on it instead of your standard classroom- a magic school would be pretty cool! decorate with silver ores, lunar horizon, aurora screens, witch's robe and hat, and plenty of kiki & lala wands!), & of course, the typical cafe (you could make this one different by giving it a minimalist vibe- minimalist series, alpine panels, hanging plants, white brick wall, and maybe a stained glass- instead of the common, girly, french cafe style).

*basement : game room with the ds wiiu big screen TV. Pool table dart board make it like a club.
*Main room: sort of a living room kitchen combo. Maybe white ranch furniture and alpine with a cute white and pink bow pattern?
*Left room (whatever side room): A library study mayor office area with fire place editors desk and chair and a water cooler thing and snake plant? Maybe more or less fancy depends

For the basement, I'm thinking a theater. Either a home theater or a movie theater. There is popcorn, a popcorn machine, a chain divider, a theater seat or simple arm chair, a slushee machine, a wall-mounted tv, standing tv or flat screen tv.
For the room to the right, how about a greenhouse with all kinds of plants?

I think it will be great to make some sort of upstairs garden caf? (like, the walls could be either the tree-lined wall or meadow vista), and perhaps a 'secret garden' like the right room could contain some elemental plant life (lotus pond, lotus lamp, items from Kerokerokeropi set) Hope I helped!

a reading room with tons of plants! with the massive bookshelves as walls (filling 2/4 walls, in corners) and couches/pillows/chairs against them, tons of books lying around on the floor and on dressers, add bookcases from various sets
