HHA Streetpass and Campsite resetting?

Hi there,
I have two questions, the first one being:
I have 3 towns on 3 cartridges, my brother has a 2ds but the circle pad is broken. (I can't move to open the gates or travel) so I thought I might try to pop in a town on his 2ds and get that town to streetpass into my HHA showcase to order stuff. I can't seem to get it to show up.

Also, I've heard people say that you can reset the villager in the campsite as you would plot reset, is there any truth to this?

I don't know the answer to the first one, but as for the second one, it's true. If you start the day as a new character and see someone in the campsite you don't like, just quit without saving and do it again. Just like the random plot placement, the camper changes randomly. Except you won't get a camper every time, so it'd take a lot of resets, including the ones where there'd be no camper, until you found someone you liked. It's possible to do it, though.
