Villagers are completely helpless without the player

Haha yeah I guess it just adds more work for us in the game! Or more opportunities to earn their pictures. I have had villagers donate money for PWP's but not nearly enough to even put a good dent in it. I did find out last night that villagers actually pick weeds! I don't even have the beautiful town ordinance so I was surprised about that!
 
I like to think they just prefer the simple lifestyle - talking strolls around town, small-talking with their neighbors, shopping. We, as the mayor, are just some ambitious person who moved in and started improving the town. Also the amount of times a villager asks me to buy something because they spent all their spending money leads me to believe they aren't rolling in bells, so I don't blame them for not contributing much to pwps.
