This was basically the first thing that popped into my head. I never really tried duping, but it was a somewhat frequent thing I heard of when I'd first started playing the game.

Do people post what their specials are for the day anywhere?
Do people pay other people in crowns? Maybe that's where I got them

actually, i'm pretty sure you would only get half the money, since by default items sell at retail for 25% of what you buy them for in stores. so even if there was a retail special it would only be 500k bells for each. unless there's a bell boom ordinance, but that only increases sales by 20%, i think. the most you could sell a crown for at retail is 600k bells if i did my math right, so you'd actually end up losing a lot of bells if you bought crowns just to sell them again.
but if they were duplicated using hacks or cheats it would make sense.
Yea I thought about the fact that selling wouldn't give the money back. I just don't even know where I got them lol
I don't know how to find someone with the proper retail special.

I'm resetting the theme of my town so I made new characters to hold qr codes. I'm time traveling to get them access to the sewing machine and what do you know

I have 9 pages of storage of just crowns. No bell boom, though, but 2 crowns is all I can sell at once considering storage space.

I found a way to be decently efficient (first world acnl problems) but I had to have room since she just bags anything over pocket amount
