Do flowers wilt in this game?

I recently picked up this game, as it was the only AC game I haven't played yet. (started with WW in '06.) I heard that flowers don't breed-- so do they also not wilt? I couldn't find much information on this. I'm wondering if I should put some time into planting a bunch of blue cosmos around. I know I should just wait a few days and find out myself, but I won't be able to play for like 2 weeks and I just wanna know! Thanks ^^
