Does DS to DS still work?

Hi, I was just curious as I know Nintendo's wifi service for DS games got shut down, sorry if this is a stupid question but does DS to DS work when trying to travel to someone else's town?

I'm not 100% but I imagine it's still possible. It goes by sending a signal to one anothers DS, hence having to be near each other while playing. Nothing to do with WiFi.

Could be wrong though.

Still works.

People have also set up custom networks which you can use to connect to Wi-Fi again.

Yeah, there's no reason for it to not work.

However, I believe DS to DS with game cards of different regions (Europe and Japan, for example) will not work.
