How much space does the zen garden take up?

I need to adjust for one in the future. Does it overlap paths like the flower garden pwp?
 
So the path will have the same visibility as if it wasn't there? I'm not talking about it destroying paths.

Unlike the Water Pump, no part of the Zen Garden spills into the path.

Its actually a birthday cake item that I placed outside. The wedding cake, chocolate cake and birthday cake appear as a slice of cake when placed outside.

Ah, thank you! Damn, I was wondering if it was a cake item I had missed. I'd love to have something like that displayed in my house as a decorative item but sadly that seems impossible. Thanks for the response!
