HHD to New Leaf amiibo villager invites - questions about how it works

So I read that if you scan an amiibo and decorate their house in HHD, then scan them in New Leaf and invite them to live in your town, that the decor you gave them in HHD comes with them. Is this true? If so, what happens when they have a two-room layout, etc? Does it include wallpaper and flooring, which normally isn't something that changes in NL?

Unfortunately, this isn't true. It would be pretty cool, though!
