Just wondering how the villager trading works. I'm new to the site. Tired of having ugly villagers

The trading plaza has a lot of people selling/giving away villagers. There's also a lot of cycling towns there
To get a new villager you need to have less than 10 living in your town already (unless you move them in via amiibo).
As long as you have space in your town and you haven't had that same villager for a while (you need to cycle 16 villagers out if you want a villager back who you've had before, unless you have their amiibo) you can just go to another town when the villager is in boxes and ask them to move in.
The only villagers you can't get from other towns are Sanrio, splatoon villagers, LOZ villagers and Felyne. You need their amiibos to move them in your town

You can't however post looking for threads, if you're looking for a villager just post in the Looking For stickied thread at the top of the Villager Trading Plaza and post there, usually if someone is selling or giving away a villager they'll message you if they have them available.

Also you can put your dreamies in you signature and people will usually let you know if they have them, or you can "lurk" in Cycling threads for animals you want and usually they'll let you know when the person come up for trading. =]

Depending on the villager most people sell them for TBT here on the site or just give them away if they aren't super popular, hope you find the villagers you want!

You can find the villager's popularity in the Villager Popularity thread, it's not stickied however. If you have a specific villager in mind that you want to have, I recommend trying the cycling threads. Many of those people have all the amiibos, so they can easily move the one you want in and out of their own town.
