I still play Wild World on my DSlite, but as I know the 3DS has compatibility with most DS games, I was considering switching to playing it on my 3DS, since I have that with me more often so it's more convenient. My only question is, will it affect my save data to switch the cartridge over to a different machine? Has anyone else done this?

I've played my copy of Wild World on both a DSi and a 3DS, and it doesn't seem to affect anything ^^;

I would think the only issue would be clock related, but not a major issue.

Yes, make sure the time is set to the same on both. Save data is no issue.
You may wish to consider sticking to playing it on the Lite since its screen can be brighter and both the screens tend to be the same shape and brightness on there, unlike the 3DS which has its wider and dimmer top screen. Battery lasts much longer too. On the other hand, the 3DS has a slightly higher resolution (Wild World scales up quite nicely) and less screen ghosting.
