I like harvesting perfect fruits, then unloading them in other town which has it on premium. I've afforded house loan plus earned like millions this way in one of my towns where I don't time travel, don't obtain anything from any of my other towns, don't sell anything on the forum to get a profit. It's addictive and fun. Honestly.

The best way besides going to the island would probably be selling fruits (not your native fruit) to Retail. Don't sell them to Timmy and Tommy as they give you less for them. I didn't find anything that was as efficient in town as this.

Tbh I just sell fruit and unwanted furniture. Just check your recycling bin and lost and found and just sell them all to Tom Nook. Also, if you hadn't already done this, make sure your points are high in the Nook shop, you'll get extra bells if they are ^^
Sell any fossils that have already been donated to the museum. Other than that(and red turnips), there's nothing else.
