I honestly like both. Not on one piece of toast, of course, but separate. I rarely do jam though, so I do butter more. Eh, I'm still choosing both.
 
Call me weird, but I can't eat buttered toast unless sugar is sprinkled on it. Though if there's strawberry jam available, I'm going qith that~

You should try them together- they taste heavenly together - I love putting butter then strawberry jam so its like sweet and salty!

So when I say both - I mean both together ovo

butter + jam is a winning combo. i wouldn't have just butter or just jam but then again i don't really eat toast
 
I absolutely hate jam, the texture and consistency is terrible to me. Butter's the way to go xD

I do! I actually hate toast with butter or sandwich with butter, my mom always served buttered toasts and my brother and I just left them aside. I usually eat them nature, but occasionally add slices of banana or strawberries. Peanut butter is okay. I don't like jam much, too sweet, sometimes I eat marmelade on crumpets, but need lot of water after.
