If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask (I know the concepts are a little confusing). Much of the world and story is purposely left out because it's still being developed and I want some sort of creativity or mystery. This takes place in a medieval type place which means you shouldn't include anything inappropriate for the time period. Everyone is welcome to join the RP but I can certainly kick people if I feel it is right to do so. I'll accept up to 15 people right now but more can be added later. We'll start when we have four people. There will be more opportunities to sign up once we start. 2/15 people so far.

Your pail dips into the pond, each movement perfectly mirrored by the small pond below. How lively the ferns were despite the shade casting at your heels, it seemed as if they were almost dancing in the breeze. Vibrantly, the colors of the your reflection bounce off the ripples in the surface of the water. The reflection holds your eyes. You cannot bring yourself to break away. It continues to gently tug you into a state of daze; it begins to blur your sight. A white fog rolls in, intruding into your peripheries. As if by a sudden motion, awareness rushes back to you. Back and forth your eyes roll. White. Nothing but blank emptiness. Fear strikes you. Frantic movements are made in an attempt to distinguish anything from the thick nothingness filling up your sense. Why were you even here? Then you see it. Your reflection in the bucket. The pail jerks free of the fog and spills. Gently flowing water moves under your toes. First it is unclear, but at an accelerating pace letters take shape. As clear as the water it's self, it spells "WELCOME." A very dark purplish black tinge is mirrored in the water. To your surprise, like a mirror there emerged from behind you two birds. Ravens to be exact. You feel a jolt of pain. Darkness takes your vision.
Your eyes swing open. Above you hangs a pearly iridescent chandelier, dimly lit, only enough for you to see the figure of the bird shaped curiosity. Only one appeared. You begin to take in your surroundings and stand up. Silky formal apparel wraps around you. You're in a hallway leading to an ornately carved door. The figure in the doorway smiles and beckons for you. As you approach you can guess he is a butler or servant perhaps. His grin is illuminated by the light leaking from the door, it's somewhat comforting. Before you can open your mouth the door opens, harsh light touches the eyes which were just dark and you're greeted by more faces, dying to meet you.

Soul Crystal: That which carries the soul and distributes energies. Typically there is one for every body of a creature.
Soul Energy: Fuels and controls a body, the soul carries the energy and the soul has complete control over the energy.
Soul: The very essence of life. It determines personality or basically how you interpret the world. A soul cannot carry memories itself but memories can be linked to a soul with a spell. The body will always accommodate a soul the best it can without destroying itself. For example "werewolves" can corrupt their souls in a way that tells the body to develop more wolf like features without completely changing their human form. This almost always cracks their crystal a bit, not enough to kill but over time it would add up.

Death: When the soul is separated from the crystal, or in very rare cases the energy from the soul is completely drained and the soul "dies." Often time death occurs when the crystal is cracked and the soul escapes.
Vampire: One who lacks a soul that directs energy. Instead they have complete control over their body. In this way they are very strong. They crave souls because they have none themselves so they feed on things with souls. They have developed a spell to transfer a soul's energy into the blood of a being. There is almost no other way to do it. When the blood with the energy is taken from the victim they can die. It is up to the vampire how much they take and what they take. When they take a soul, that is when one turns into a vampire even though they risk dying from the vampire taking too much. A vampire can never gain a soul by drinking but it satisfies their hunger. As long as they have energy fueling them they will never die. If you have a low level of soul energy to start with you will either die or become a weak vampire. Some vampires heavily corrupt and take part of the soul instead of completely taking it depending on what type they are. Vampire types form separate clans. Clans are loyal to one very powerful bloodline of vampires. Clan leaders may not necessarily be of the clan vampire type as clan leaders who are killed have their place taken by their killer if they are a vampire. One clan in particular is ruling many clans.

Magic: The force of non-living objects. It can effect both physical and spiritual things. It may be tapped in to. It can be used to create, manipulate, or destroy. These would be the types of magic. It may not destroy anything spiritual, there are limits on manipulation, and it can temporarily create spiritual objects. It can do anything to physical things. In order to preform an action, it must have the required energy to do the specified action. This means there can be manipulation without anything else, destruction means the user collects the energy, and creation is using the energy of something else. Magic is almost never pure, meaning the nature of its energy will likely reflect the object which it came from. For example, the energy which has come from a rock may flow rigidly. There are methods to purifying magic so that it may be changed to the user's will. In order for one to use magic they must gather energy from a non-living object (dead things count among these) by containing it within their "soul crystal" (see definition on first page of roleplay). It may then be utilized by specific moments of the body; words are a common form of magical practice. Many of the inhabitants of the world use magic but few have mastered it. It is hard for some to contain large amounts of energy within their "soul crystal." The amount of energy a crystal can take varies from crystal to crystal. Too much energy and it may begin to crack the crystal (see definition of "death").
Enchanting: In order to enchant an item (to have a spell cast when the enchanted object is used or to have a spell perpetually taking effect), as with any spell the correct amount and type of energy is required. Many of the magically adept will use "soul crystals" in order to store the energy. In order for a spell to be cast, it must move in the correct spell pattern. To achieve this, usually some sort of mechanism can be set forth, such as making indentations the material so the energy might flow on the path of the indentation. This applies to only creation and manipulation magic. In order for any destructive magic to be cast, energy must be taken and stored. It is possible to make an item have its destructive enchantment set off when the energy of the destructee is present. In order to do this, a detection enchantment must already be set in place (using methods before) and trigger the destruction spell.

At some point I might need someone to run the RP for me in my absence. This person might will probably want to have some previous roleplaying experience. I may co-ordinate with them via PM to effect the story somehow and they'll need to understand the concepts. If you think you can do this shoot a PM at me.

Form:
Name: Charlotte
Age: 19
Personality: Charlotte is seen as a warm and friendly girl by most people that she meets. However, in reality she is actually brutish and potent. Charlotte does not reveal her true self because she is afraid of being rejected because of her nature. Charlotte does however, have a soft and caring side to her.
Strengths (effecting the outside world, not personality): Charlotte is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship.
Weaknesses (""): The fear of being rejected for her true self and the feeling of melancholy.
Backstory (optional): Charlotte grew up as a pauper. Her childhood was a bit difficult, since her parents were both very poor. However, they raised her with the best of their abilities. Charlotte had her prized sword handed down to her from her old trainer.
Social/Military Ranks or Titles: Master Swordsman.
Status of Soul: Strong and determined, doesn't get 'weakend' that easily. However, too much and it can 'weaken'.
Vampiric Status: N/A
Important Possessions: Charlotte's prized sword.

Appearance:
Name: Tira Liddell
Age: 19
Personality: A pyromaniac, crazy and out of her mind. Tira does not show mercy and is not a good person. She is evil and loves to go on rampages. Tira is very idiotic, not being very bright, but she makes up for it in extreme levels of confidence and strength. She is strong and loves to fight and drink. Tira is considered mentally insane, so it's best to stay away if you want to be safe.
Strengths (effecting the outside world, not personality): Tira is an amazing fighter, being skilled with a scythe and a pyromaniac... But only will benefit if she is on your side.
Weaknesses (""): Tira is gullible, idiotic and does not have much common sense. Being insane, she intimates people instead of making friends, not that she cares.
Backstory (optional): Tira Liddell was the little sister of Leo (my second character I will create) and was part of an extremely wealthy family. Not caring for a high society life, Tira preferred to adventure into the bad groups around the town and took part in many crimes and even burned their cousins house down. She would spend her time 'experimenting' on animals in the basement of the house and when her family found out about her horrific actions, she was disowned and rendered homeless. She soon got into a vampire cult and worked her way up the ranks to become one of the most feared vampires around. She does not regret her actions, but instead enjoys the life she has created as it was not 'boring' like the original life she was destined.
Social/Military Ranks or Titles (not required):
Status of Soul: Chaotic (Wait if she is a vampire does she not have a soul? If so ignore this)
Vampiric Status: Vampire
Important Possessions: scythe weapon

Name:
Inais (EE-NIGH)
Age:
22
Personality: She likes to overexaggerate a lot of her reactions - so she comes off as very energetic and determined.
Strengths (effecting the outside world, not personality):
Inais is not particularly skilled in anything or has any special connections outside of details regarding her face.
Weaknesses:
She's desperate to maintain her ability to feel things. Anything that could give her a chance to restore/maintain feeling in her body will make her act irrationally.
Backstory:
Oops.
Status of Soul:
Leaking, Waning, however you want to put it.
Vampiric Status:
Definitely human.
Important Possessions:
Her mask and her ability to feel.
Appearance:
Her mask is the same, but her clothing is something more to the settings. Her jacket is now instead a huge wool cloak of similar color, and her legwear is replaced with a long skirt.
I'll describe the changes to her attire for the setting inside.
Other:
She's mute as she has no mouth, thus she speaks in sign language or charades for those who cannot understand her.
She's not blind despite having no eyes. This confuses her as much as it does you.
She doesn't require food or water anymore. Feelings of thirst and hunger were the first of her feelings to leave her.
The hole in her face is empty space - things can go in, and things can come out. Things that go in don't necessarily come out.
She doesn't have any feeling in the tips of her fingers or her toes at this point in time.
Smoke leaks from her face while her mask is off. Inais believes this to be a physical form of her soul and is one of the reasons why she wears her mask.
I can provide more information about her upon GM request - there are some things the other players shouldn't know.

Fairly confident to those who engage her as a practice, but isn't one to start any conversation.
