Official TBT Mafia History

History
Town Wins: 19
Mafia Wins: 10
Third Party Wins: 6
Draw: 2

TBT Mafia (Host: KarlaKGB, Players: 25)
Winner: Town
The game that brought Mafia back to TBT for the first time in 6 years, and introduced it to many for the first time. It's probably the most basic game we've had in terms of role selection.

Roles:
Townie
Detective, Vigilante, Veteran, Doctor
Mafia Underling, Roleblocker, Suicide Bomber

TBT Mafia II: Mafia Strike Back (Host: KarlaKGB, Players: 35)
Winner: Mafia
After introducing much of TBT to Mafia in the first game, Mafia came back even bigger and better with 7 brand new roles in this game. Even more players signed up to this game marking the largest game to date. (tied with TBT Mafia III).

This game is well known for Kayla's masterful deceiving of the town as Mafia Sheriff, and the blue massacre of Night 2 with both Paramedics and 1 Detective killed in the same night.

Roles:
Townie, Miller (NEW)
Detective, Vigilante, Vengeful Vigilante (NEW), Veteran, Paramedic, Mad Hatter (NEW), Mayor (NEW), Sheriff (NEW), Bodyguard (NEW)
Mafia Goon, Godfather (NEW), Roleblocker, Framer (NEW)

TBT Mafia III: The Murder Before Christmas (Hosts: Tom & iLoveYou, Players: 35)
Winners: Town, Assassin
This third game of Mafia was just as popular as the second game with a full house of 35 players once again. Tom and iLoveYou took the handle on hosting this game, allowing KarlaKGB to have the chance to play.

The notorious Bus Driver role was added into this game for the first time, bringing Dolby's now classic "I drive the Bus" fake claim with it causing chaos in the game. It was also the first to feature a third party role, although unfortunately it was rather uneventful with BlueLeaf winning early on only due to the other two Assassins getting modkilled.

Roles:
Townie, Miller, Bus Driver (NEW)
Detective, Vigilante, Vengeful Vigilante, Veteran, Paramedic, Mad Hatter, Mayor, Sheriff, Bodyguard
Assassin (NEW)
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Roleblocker, Framer

TBT Mafia IV: Red Revolution (Hosts: KarlaKGB & River, Players: 24)
Winner: Mafia
The fourth game continued the strong tradition of mafia near the end of 2013. This time, before the game started, select players were sent an invitation to guarantee a spot in the game.

This game was the first themed game, taking inspiration from the Russian Revolution of 1917. The game featured the addition of the Mason role, the first non-mafia "team".

Roles:
Townie, Miller
Detective, Vigilante, Veteran, Doctor, Mason (NEW), Mayor, Bodyguard
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Roleblocker

TBT Mafia V: There and Back Again (Host: Gandalf, Players: 27)
Winner: Town
The fifth game started after a two week hiatus of mafia games. It was inspired by the Lord of the Rings. Gandalf took the role of host this game.

This game featured the Bus Driver role, which was given to none other than Dolby. Unfortunately for him, his classic fake claim turned out to be his undoing, as town quickly lynched him. It also featured the Serial Killer role, which was quickly killed off.

In addition, this game set the new record for the blue massacre of night two, resulting in the deaths of two vigilantes, a doctor, and a veteran, in addition to a townie and two mafia members.

Roles:
Townie, Miller, Bus Driver
Detective, Vigilante, Veteran, Doctor, Jack of all Trades (NEW), Lynchproof (NEW), Town Reviver (NEW)
Serial Killer (NEW)
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Roleblocker, Doctor (NEW), Suicide Bomber, Framer

TBT Mafia VI: Faithful June (Hosts: BellBringerGreen & Blue Leaf, Players: 25)
Winner: Town
The sixth game of mafia was hosted by the brothers BellBringerGreen and BlueLeaf. This game continued along with themes, this time taking form of an anime. This game was known for animosity between some of the players and the hosts, resulting in a massive spam war, administrator intervention, and a modkill.

Roles:
Townie
Veteran, Detective, Insane Detective (NEW), Vigilante, Paramedic, Bartender, Priest (NEW), Jack of all Trades
Psychopath (NEW)
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Roleblocker, Framer, Scientist (NEW)

TBT Mafia VII: Animal Crossing Mafia (Host: Justin, Players: 34)
Winner: Town
The seventh game of mafia was hosted by Justin. This game featured a massive revamp to the entire mafia system, bringing in items, a currency system, and completely unique role names.

The items, while proving to be a massive asset to the town, were an initial hindrance, as the town tended to focus on who had what item instead of who was acting in a scummy manner. The game reached a tipping point towards the town side when there was an accidental leak of two of the major scum team members.
Roles:
Townie, Miller
Detective, Tracker (NEW), Deputy (NEW), Vigilante (NEW), Poisoner (NEW), Veteran, Doctor, Jack of all Trades, Coward (NEW)
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Framer, Roleblocker, Mafia Jack of all Trades (NEW)

TBT Mafia VIII: Dark Lord Ascending (Host: KarlaKGB, Players: 31)
Winner: Town
This game was the first to feature the Innocent Child role, who was modkilled on day one due to rule-breaking by a member of the mafia team. However, town was able to work past this, through mass-roleclaims.

This game was known for the experimental completely open set-up, stating how many of each role was still alive, and the new way for calculating mafia power, which allowed them to perform any mafia action.

Roles:
Townie, Town Drunk (NEW), Self-Aware Miller (NEW)
Innocent Child (NEW), Veteran, Tracker/Watcher (NEW), Alignment Cop, Doctor, Vigilante, Sleeper Vigilante (NEW), Bodyguard
Mafia Goon, Godfather

TBT Mafia IX: The Apocalypse (Host: LaurinaMN, Players: 31)
Winner: Town
This game was the first the feature a larger third party, thus making it the first game to technically have two mafia teams. The Horsemen were quickly eliminated due to mafia kills and inactivity, whereas the Mafia team was killed due to clever planning and actions on the town side.

Roles:
Townie
Reviver, Unlynchable, Super-Saint (NEW), Veteran, Jack of all Trades, Doctor, Detective, Vigilante, Watchman (NEW)
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Roleblocker, Mugger (NEW)

TBT Mafia X: The Honnō-ji Incident (Host: Tina, Players: 32)
Winner: Town
This game was the second of the historical mafia games, featuring the Honno-ji Incident of 1582. This game was known for the general lack of most kills by the mafia team, due to an inability to work together successfully.

Roles:
Townie, Self-Aware Miller
Mayor, Bodyguard, Detective, Assassin (NEW), Vigilante, Medic, Veteran, Priest
Cult Leader, Cultist
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Hooker (NEW), Framer, Mafia Doctor, Mafia Roleblocker

TBT Mafia XI: Person of Interest (Host: Tom, Players: 31)
Winner: Mafia Team Vigilance, Lyncher
This game was the eleventh in the TBT Main Mafia series. It was known for the expert manipulation of a third-party role, and a massive modkill of townies for willful inactivity.

Roles:
Townie, Miller
Cop, Assassin, Watcher/1-Shot Vig (NEW), Day Cop (NEW), Jack of All Trades, Doc/1-Shot Vig (NEW), Tree (NEW)
Lyncher (NEW), Arms Dealer/Survivor (NEW)
Godfather, Roleblocker, Goon

TBT Mafia XII: Mean Girls (Host: PurplPanda, Players: 31)

Roles:
Townie, Self-Aware Miller
Veteran, Detective, Doctor, Santa (NEW), Twin (NEW)
Cult Leader, Cult Member
Godfather, Mafia Tree (NEW), Mafia Goon, Mafia Jack of all Trades, Framer

TBT Mafia XIII: XCOM: Enemy Within (Host: Feloreena, Players: 33)
Winner: Town
The thirteenth game in the Main Mafia series featured a massive amount of roles new to the series. In the beginning, this did lead to some confusion, however, the third-party was quickly eliminated due to some luck on the town side and accidents on the third-party side. Inactivity was also a major issue, as it is what killed half of the mafia team.
Roles:
Townie, Jack of All Trades/Self-Aware Miller (NEW)
Unlynchable/Recuiter (NEW), Researcher (NEW), Engineer (NEW), Jailer, Suppressor (NEW), X-Shot Vigilante, Doctor, Veteran, Detective, Watcher

TBT Mafia XIV: Majora's Mask Redux (Host: oath2order, Players: 24)
Winner: Town, Third-party
The first game after a monthlong break featured a smaller house than usual for a main mafia. This game was unique in that it featured items in lieu of the typical blue roles. This allowed any player to have any role.

Town won after a grueling first two days due to a slip-up of the scum team.

Roles:
Townie
Mafia Goon

TBT Mafia XV: The Siren's Call (Host: Tina, Players: 23)
Winner: Mafia, Third-party
The long awaited sequel to the famous TBT Mini Mafia II: Catch Scum or Catch Scurvy was as popular as the first. Unfortunately for town, this popularity did not guarantee them a win.

This game also featured a third-party thief team, who, while winning their mini-game, lost the overall game.

Roles:
Townie, Self-Aware Miller
Doctor, Detective, Roleblocker, Vigilante, Veteran
Mafia Goon, Godfather, Roleblocker, Hooker, Doctor, Lover (NEW)
Lover, Thief (NEW)

Mafia Underling, Godfather, Roleblocker

TBT Mini Mafia II: Catch Scum or Catch Scurvy (Host: Tina, Players: 20)
Winner: Town

Godfather, Roleblocker, Mafia Goon

TBT Mini Mafia III: A Terrible Fate (Host: oath2order, Players: 18)

Godfather, Roleblocker, Mafia Goon

TBT Mini Mafia IV: Fire Emblem Kingmaker (Host: Tom, Players: 20)
Winner: Mafia

Roles:

Mafia

TBT Mini Mafia VI: Tribal Attack (Host: Superpenguin, Players: 18)

Cult Leader (NEW), Cultist (NEW)

TBT Mini Mafia VII: Bioshock - Unrest in Rapture (Host: Minties, Players: 20)
Winner: Town
This game, commonly called Biomafia, was a change from the games that occurred recently before it, as there was a lack of mass-roleclaiming until the end. TBT Mini Mafia VIII: Pleasure Cruise (Host: KarlaKGB, Players: 22)

TBT Mini Mafia X: And Then There Were None (Host: Jeremy, Players: 16)

The mafia team used this to their advantage and with the help of the Judge ability, won the game.

Roles:
Townie
Judge (NEW), Veteran, Vigilante, Doctor
Godfather, Mafia Goon

TBT Mini Mafia XI: Frozen (Host: MissNoodle, Players: 20)
Winner: Town
The eleventh game in the Mini Mafia series was styled after the popular Disney movie, Frozen. This game was unfortunate for town in that it seemingly rushed towards a scum win, however, due to the extension of a final voting day and an accidental slip-up by a scum member, the scales were turned back towards town. The game ended with a mafia team surrender.

Roles:
Townie
Detective, Doctor, Watcher/Tracker, Vigilante, Bodyguard
Mafia Detective (NEW), Godfather, Mafia Goon, Mafia Roleblocker

TBT Mini Mafia XII - GLaDOS and her Deadly Neurotoxin (Host: Lauren, oath2order, Players: 20)
Winner: Mafia
Mini Mafia games tend to be quick and the twelfth game in the series continued that trend. This game ended on the fourth day, with expert manipulation by the scum team. Had it not been for modkills, there would have been no scum deaths.

Townie, Miller
Detective, Doctor, Veteran, Vigilante
Mafia Goon, Roleblocker, Godfather

TBT Mini Mafia XIII: Bird Mafia II - Attack of the Ostrich (Host: Superpenguin, Players: 20)

Winner: Draw
Pok?mon Colosseum was the first Mini Mafia to use items. It featured a similar set-up to Majora's Mask Redux, where Pok?mon were used as items.

This game was infamous for the lack of attention from the hosts, a changing of a team's win condition, and numerous other issues, there were quite a few jokes in the observer chat.

It is listed as a draw, due to the changing of the win conditions halfway through. While town was eliminated, mafia and the serial killer did not achieve their win conditions.

Mafia Goon, Godfather, Granny (NEW)

Now, for the descriptions

TBT Mafia IV
The fourth game continued the strong tradition of mafia near the end of 2013. This time, before the game started, select players were sent an invitation to guarantee a spot in the game.

This game was the first themed game, taking inspiration from the Russian Revolution of 1917. The game featured the addition of the Mason role, the first non-mafia "team".

TBT Mini Mafia V
This game was the first experimental set-up, differing from the traditional style previous games had been played in. It was the first game to feature no role titles, only Town and Mafia. In addition, there was no night.

TBT Mafia VII
This game was successor to previous Animal Crossing themed mafia games on the forum. It was the first game to feature a closed set-up, creating a larger focus on post analysis and a step away from the meta-analysis that was larger in previous games.

It also brought items and currency to the Mafia series for the first time. These items, while serving as a major focal point and distraction for town, also was the key factor that caused town to win the game.

TBT Mafia IX
This game was the first the feature a larger third party, thus making it the first game to technically have two mafia teams. The Horsemen were quickly eliminated due to mafia kills and inactivity, whereas the Mafia team was killed due to clever planning on town side.
