well, if you really don't care about time travel then you can easily fill your town with rare fruits and then sell them. Also, if you time travel forward a week and sometimes even 2 weeks, and return to January 21st, the iterms that were on sale that day will appear again. True story! I tried...

The best bet to grow trees is by cutting down trees and then replacing it with the new one, it always works trust me (I replaced many trees yesterday and they all made it) Also, I have 16 coconut palms, and I just planted them randomly... but of course I planted them near the shore and yet not...
