Your villagers will give you petitions for random things (that never happen) that must be signed in other towns and as a reward you'll get a random item from them or possibly their picture if you're good friends with them.

There are lots of light-themed projects that can light up your town. The illumination projects don't look that great during the day, but they look wonderful at night.
I crash around 11pm too. I've seen most of my Japanese friends online at 3-4 am their time, even during the week. ._.
I was visiting someone from Japan and it was 4am in their town. I could never stay up that late.
The music is much better in NL. The 4am music is very nice. -
