Hey, I don't know if you still play Pokemon Rumble World or not, but I just added you! My fc is 4055 3225 6471
Sorry for the row of messages, my internet went weird and I didn't know that could happen.
It was in grade school and one of my classes had a theme each month for books we should read. Fantasy month. I remembered my sister had these four books that were in a series & I guessed they were fantasy. I didn't know anything about them. So I borrowed The Bad Beginning from her and that's how that started. After a little while and I'm getting into this book; everybody's now reading it! The whole school was reading it! Then the movie came out! I was actually convinced I started something. Still kinda am. As insane as that sounds! xP It was just so odd & neat that as soon as I start this book series; it's all of a sudden everywhere.
Yes! The book states he tied her hair up to keep it out of her eyes. In the movie; she ties her in a ribbon. Period. The strawberries scene from the first book. Skipped. The books were much darker. Gustav, Uncle Monty's would-be assistant from the 2nd book was drowned in Swarthy Swamp. In the movie; he was tied to the front of a train. If the entire series was adapted, that would be an incredible feat. The Vile Village was so dark & saddening.
Honestly, I loved the 2004 movie. Saw it in the theaters! Jim Carrey's performance in that film equals to any of his 90's films. Of course though, I'd appreciate an adaption that followed the books more. That gave enough time to each book instead of cramming three into one.
I don't even have them all. I have 1-7, 10 (The Slippery Slope) and 13 (The End). Have you heard the word that Netflix is creating a series based off the books? It will definitely be most excellent.
It's been many a year since I finished the series. I see your tagline and I was whisked away to The Slippery Slope. I believe that's when the line was mentioned. I present you the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality.
Sorry I missed you again. I will be around till 3pm. Let me know if you are available.
