You will have 10 houses in total. 9 of them will be from villagers that will move in on their own, the 10th will be a camper that you've invited to stay (so you'll have more control over the 10th villager.)

I'm not 100% sure of whether this will affect characters that you're trading with. BUT One of my best friends had Hazel move out from her game. While I was doing the resetting trick, Hazel kept trying to move in over and over... @_@ There were times when I would get other villagers, but Hazel was one of the ones that I would get the most often. I'm guessing that it came from my friend's house but I can't be sure.

oops sorry for the late reply. Yeah I think it may be for only best friends on both lists. However I'm not 100% sure.
