Those who have one of the new villagers in your town- how did you obtain them? Random move in? Campsite? Island? Curious to hear how!
 
I found Audie on an island after using exactly 20 Nook Mile tickets. :)
Also, my friend got Judy from a random move in.
 
I found Judy on an island. I'm not sure how many tickets it took but I think it was around 10. They're just a chance at a random move-in or finding them on an island when you have a plot available.
 
Dom was one of my starters.
My friend got Audie off an island for one of her first three plots.
 
Audie-Nook Island..I found her on my third trip to an island.
Raymond-campsite
Dom-one of my two starters
Sherb-random move-in

Heh,there's no way I would ever have enough bells or items to buy or trade for these guys.I like all of them so they'll be sticking around.

Wow,you got three of my favorites from New Leaf.Yeah,I thought I'd be lucky to just get Raymond but I never thought I'd get four of the new villagers.
 
Dom was one of my starting villagers. Don't really like him though...
 
Reneigh - she was my sisterly starter consisting of my first two villagers.
Audi - found her in nook mile island (my 7th move in)
Megan - found her in nook mile island (my 9th move in)
Judy - traded nook mile tickets for her here on TBT (my 10th & only trade move in)
Sherb - found him in nook mile island (my 11th move in technically but my 10th move in after getting my jock starter Rudy to move out).

Started with Reneigh, found Audie on my 4th island or something like that.
 
I don't have her yet, but I'm dying to get Reneigh on my island! I have horses in real life, so I really like the horse villagers to begin with, and Reneigh is just the cutest!! I'm really hoping I find her on a mystery island or for sale on the forums here.
 
My starting two villagers were: Buck and Charlise.

I got Punchy, Maddie, and Nana through my Nook Miles tickets, which my friend was nice enough to buy me five before she decided to restart her island again because she desperately wanted a certain island with peaches. I had also come across Apple, but he (she?, honestly I can't tell with Apple) reminded me too much of the mask on Hazel in The Umbrella Academy, and I just couldn't do it.

Nana just moved in today so I haven't had the opportunity to upgrade my resident services - I, too, restarted my island once just to get more room, so I'm lagging a bit behind on a few things.

Raymond just bought a plot I had on my land! Funny enough, he's not one of my dreamies so I will be aunctioning him when he wants to move.
 
I got Reneigh as one of my starting villagers, Judy moved randomly and today I found Cyd on a mystery island and invited him to replace Rolf who just moved out.
 
Additionally, I just found Cyd on an island (maybe 4th after a checking them from a recent moveout) but he doesn't interest me.
 
My priority dreamie is Cyd and I just got him from an island after exactly 60 tickets!!! Which is kinda funny cause I found Audie on my 20th ticket the other day. I'm so happy!

I saw a lot of cute villagers during the hunt today but I'm so glad I persisted in my search for Cyd!
I still have a ton of tickets left so I'm gonna try to hunt for Raymond or Judy tomorrow.
