both in game AND here.

like my god, it's selling like crazy! even for trading it almost became a standard and people would rather ask that rather than bells or tbt.

i'm not saying it's totally expensive in game, but the fact that people would rather get them here says a lot. like, i don't think it's really that worth 2,000 miles per ticket considering its randomized nature. comparing it to tortimer's island, which you can do a lot, it pales in comparison. the former had a basket, shop, mini games, tortimer's club, and on top of that it's not a randomized island. we also didn't need to do tricks in order to farm, it was just the norm. you just have to choose the right time of the day.

during the first week of the game, people were dismissing me & telling me "but they are so easy to earn" um, just wait until the game progresses and you have more things to buy lol

that said, i don't think they would lower its price BUT perhaps in the future, we should be able to do more on these islands. i have wasted so many tickets already just by returning. it's a lot of effort to earn those miles and when as the game progress you realize you'd rather use them for something else. i am positive there will be a lot of additional stuff for future events as well.

Yes and no. They add up if buying a bunch in a short period of time, but with the addition of Nook Miles+, I can make 2000 in a short amount of time, provided the RNG gods are in my favor.

I don't think Nintendo intended for everyone to go to hundreds per day. The island is great to visit once or twice per day to get resources, and maybe get lucky now and then. The randomized islands have never been an aspect to Animal Crossing, so I don't feel the game is affected too much if you choose to not ever go to them.

Going to the islands to find a specific NPC is like playing the lottery. Unfortunately, that means you're going to lose a lot along the way. You may be better obtaining amiibos, or doing villager trades.

i guess you're kinda right in which the game did not really intend you to go multiple times a day, or look for a certain island or villager. but looking at the trading forums right now, it's crazy how much these are worth.

it really was easy at first to earn, especially when we didn't have a lot to purchase during the first few days. but doing 10+ tasks to get 2,000 miles and land into a boring island really bums me out.

kinda - i can understand wanting to go to them in hopes of coming across foreign fruit/flowers and a villager you like and i can also understand not wanting to spend 2,000 nook miles once more things become unlocked and you’d rather spend your miles on them. but i do also hope that the islands will be improved in the future since a lot of them just look the same to me and are usually a waste lmao

I definitely think the item duplication abusers have set a standard for the high price for ticket trades. They're offering amounts like 200k-400k per ticket, and earning 2000 miles is nowhere near the effort it takes to earn that many bells.

I need more nook miles and at this point I'm pretty desperate so thinking about buying some on Ebay

they saw that the demand for it is very high. I mean, people have been avoiding adopting villagers because of the glitch, so I get why people been trying to visit these islands repeatedly.

exactly. my logic is that, there are items like the fences or other recipe which goes for 1,000-3,000. things that are reusable. plus the outdoor furniture in exchange for pwp's. the lighthouse in new leaf used to go for 300k bells, so for it to be just 5,000 miles only 3,000 short of 1 time use ticket is kind of questionable. i just hope they improve these island. they emphasized the deserted island too much imo.

that's why I'm selling my tickets. at least for my grind I get 250k, not a boring island with same fruit and flower.

i saw your thread LOL i was like ooooh you're smart. and i know some of the folks here already got plenty of bells. so like i might sell them for bells when i'm done visiting these crappy islands.

now if only I could get the damn fossils I need. been bumping my thread since forever. lol

I think you should sell you tickets 100%, especially if you are done with your villagers!

I think it's a gamble. If your fav villager sells for 10m igb, and miles tickets sell for 250k, then you can afford 40 tickets with the amount you'd spend on the villager. Maybe you can find your villager using only 20 tickets, so you're getting your fav villager at a 50% discount.

If you're good at turning islands into tarantula islands, surely you can make your money back too.

Also, holdin out hope for hybrid island. You gotta have faith!

I think wherever there's an aspect of supply and demand people are gonna chime in and try to make a few bucks. It's a hard thing to try and control.

It is a lot of effort to get the Nook Miles but I sometimes wonder if they're farming by making new characters? The challenges at the beginning of the game are a lot easier and faster to complete which would make collecting tickets a lot easier. Hopefully in the coming weeks things will settle down as Nintendo patched the duplication glitch.

yes completely a gamble because it's not certain and some islands can't be turned into tarantula islands, i gave up last night and so far only got into ONE hybrid island out of dozens since i started. i'm so-

unrelated: punchy looks so cute in your pic :(

They're a little high in-game, but I honestly don't think it's too terrible. Yes, that is even with you getting more stuff to buy with Nook Miles later. I end up getting thousands of miles per day, still. At some point you'll end up buying everything you want that's possible to buy with Nook Miles and all you'll have to spend it on is those tickets.

I do think the prices people are selling them online for is really insane though. If you didn't use the item duplication cheat or you haven't been lucky with turnips, then it takes a lot longer to earn those amount of bells than it does to just earn some miles. Of course, it depends on how you play. If you're trying to visit like 10 islands per day, you're probably not earning the miles yourself to do that.

I have Amiibo cards, so outside of getting the Miles furniture, they're useless to me. I'm not in a massive rush to pay off my house so I don't need to make tarantula islands. I've traded some for bells, some for art and I'm probably gonna trade the rest for flowers that I don't have.

Honestly the only reason why they are worth so much is because of the duplication glitch. Aside from mortgage payments, bells do not disappear in this game, they get transformed to items and flowers. There's now millions of bells in the economy raising the price of everything. I feel like if the duplication glitch was never discovered, tickets would be selling for 50k.

i dont have a problem necessarily with people duping(/having duped), play the game how you want, but now the economy is so crazy. like as expensive and hard to trade in as new leaf was, but this game is like 11 days old. it's insane to me. i dont frequent the trading threads too much because its just all out of my trading league. which is fine, it's just easier for some to trade than others, harder for some to trade for others. it is what it is! but it is insane to me lately and i'm really glad im not the only one who thinks so. i've been afraid to say something bc i dont wanna come across as attacking the way anyone plays the game bc its not what i mean. i just think the trading economy is a lil intimidating right now considering the age of the game

but also meh, live and let live i suppose!
