I've seen people complaining about how the outfit wands are useless, could have been done better, etc, and I'm just like ???

The wands are AMAZING. So so so helpful! My Able Sister opened up today and I've got both of the current suggested looks stored in it. A lot of the complaints is that the wand stores the item on itself rather than keeping it in storage, therefore wearing the same item in multiple outfits, such as glasses, means you need to get more of that item.

The order catalogue exists for a reason? Like it's easy enough to go buy 7 pairs of glasses and have them in the mail ready to load up the next day. And they are stored ON the wand, so it's not like you're taking up an extra 7 inventory/storage slots for 1 item.

Please don't let me be the only one who LOVES the wands.
 
People in the B/S/T section are paying a lot for wands and they seem to be high in demand; a lot of people do love them. I think it's a nice feature they added to the game, especially for people who like to roleplay and use certain outfits at certain times. For example wearing pajamas at night. Once I get another wand, I'll be doing that too.

I haven't seen anybody complain about them yet but I'm sure they're just more people looking for trivial things to nitpick about the game.

i haven’t crafted any of the wands yet but they seem like a cool feature to have! i hope more with different purposes will be introduced in future updates ;u;

Yeah, I've seen a couple of threads dedicated to discussing why wands were a "wasted feature" or "very limited" and I'm like?? No, they aren't? They are fantastic!

I think the largest point of different wands at the minute is to distinguish between which outfit is stored where. It's easy enough to remember you have your pyjamas on the star wand and your winter outfit on the bamboo wands but a lot harder to remember 'right, I have my winter outfit on my bamboo wand. One of my three different bamboo wands.'

people always find something to complain huh
for a new feature it's pretty cool. and like you said, the clothing being stored on the wand itself is great because it will free up inventory space. getting repeat items is not even that hard, and i'm sure it's cool to even experiment with the colors so items are not all the same.
 
I don't think saying it could've been done better is necessarily hate. I for one love that they added the wand and can't wait to get one of my own--but at the same time I do still think that what you mentioned about the item not staying in storage is annoying. And actually, the order limit for the catalogue is a very sad 5 orders per day (why couldn't they at least have it be 10??), so it's very easily possible to use all that up and not be able to buy as much as you need all at once especially if you're buying other things as well. I think the wand is an awesome, super convenient feature but you can like something and still think it could be improved!

I get what you're saying, but that's more an issue with the catalogue that impacts the wand rather than the wand itself. As it's the same for Nook Miles items it's annoying when you plan the need for 6 streetlamps and can only buy 5 a day. So yeah, that is an issue, but it's not really an issue with the wand. If the order limit was 10 a day, then people wouldn't need to complain. TTers can just TT to get their stuff, and us non-TTers usually enjoy the game for its otherwise slow pace so IDK why this is such a problem, especially when it's not very likely 1 person will wear all 8 outfits on a single wand in a day.

True, but I have another issue with it in the fact that I really like going to my wardrobe and mixing and matching outfits from all the clothing I own and if I wanted to continue doing that I would have to buy duplicates of anything I ever put on a wand, which actually would be taking up extra storage space. Granted, I don't have a wand of my own so I don't know how easy or difficult it is to just take the outfits off when I want them back in my wardrobe and re-add them later, but the whole thing could be avoided if the clothes were just kept in your storage.
 
The thing I dislike about wands is that when I find a new clothing item and want to try it on, I first need to equip the wand again and deselect what I am currently "wearing" and then I can try the new outfit on. Its a bit of a hassle, but not something that makes me hate the wand. But since I dont have many clothes just yet or know what they look like I wanna try on everything! It can be a bit annoying, but otherwise the feature is great.
 
i wish the tool ring worked like the wand and stored the tools inside it!!

If you like mixing and matching you might be better off just... not using a wand TBH. The wand exists to give you premade outfits to change into quickly and easily and that sounds like it's not really your style. Mixing and matching can be fun and people who like it normally look awesome all the time lol. I just prefer some presets to have on hand, which is the wand's purpose.

If it's useless then don't use it??? I think it's fun to have outfits on the go, but I also like to mix things up at the wardrobe. I'll probably buy duplicates for that reason when I get my wand.
 
I hate the wand because it removes your outfit and stores it in the wand.
I hate the wand because none of the outfits can co-exist in storage.
I hate the wand because if I want to keep my glasses, I have to buy another pair for each outfit...Same for shoes, or any piece.
I hate the wand because it is flat out a hassle to use and set up, and isn't streamlined well enough.

As someone who used to play MMORPGs, that often offer "custom outfit" options, New Horizon misses the target by a huge margin in my opinion.

I've put some storage units outside. I go to them to change my outfit. Sure it can't be done out of town, but I don't really need to be changing then.

The wand is great because it does store the outfits. I'm so confused as to why people say that's bad.
As an avid WoW fan, the fact that I need to carry around all my +fishing skill outfit items in my bags with me all the time is SO, SO ANNOYING. The wand storing it for me is great!
If you don't like the wand, don't use it.
 
The wand storage isn't that necessary when you get access your clothes through the wardrobe if they're stored in your house. It seems more practical to just go home and change than to carry 8 outfits with you in an extra space, especially if you want to keep on changing. If you have 8 outfits that you keep forever, the wand definitely saves you the storage space.

I definitely have 8 outfits that I want to keep forever. If I don't do it, I'll spend 4 hours just choosing what to wear with all the options in this game!
Seriously, I need to be limited. I cannot limit myself.
 
I was excited about the wand but in practice it was tedious and I don't want to buy so many duplicates of staple items like glasses or shoes. I might use it if I do a group hang out with my friends and that's about it.
