I'm genuinely just curious, because given Nintendo's track record of making each AC more progressively child friendly (looking at you New Leaf), I wouldn't be surprised if they cut out a scammer such as Crazy Redd, but I'm not 100% sure. So, has anyone seen Crazy Redd? If not, do you think we will, or won't? And why?

He's not in the game and like all cut characters we have no way of knowing if he'll be added back. I doubt he's too controversial to be in the game or anything.

Personally I think Nintendo made Animal Crossing better in the past two games. I didn't care for Wild World, the original, or City Folk. As a kid I didn't really care for them, but these newer ones I am enjoying as an adult. New Leaf especilly.

I hope you are right that he isn't too controversial. He was an entertaining character, and the only way to get paintings in the older games. It made the world feel much more realistic, because it didn't shy away from having people who did bad things.

So if they decided he was too controversial, you'd go along with it? The dialogue and interactions were so much better in the older games, and New Leaf got rid of that. I'd hate for Nintendo to continue down that path just because people only care for gameplay, not real and interesting characters. AC isn't just a game, it is it's own world to explore.

If you smack villagers in this game with a net, they don't react. So it's even more childish than New Leaf unfortunately.

He's probably in hiding due to all his black market sales!

But seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut him out due to some parents complaining about nothing.

I would've liked for him to be in the game also, but with the removal of paintings and whatnot there wasn't really a reason to keep him around. Though, I could still see him being a traveling merchant of some sorts selling faulty DIY recipes for ridiculous prices lol. I'm surprised that's not the direction Nintendo took with him.

Honestly, I find the characters in NL and NH more real and interesting. In Wild World (my least favorite game in the series btw) I played it for like a month, and quit. I really didn't like the characters at all, and aside from that, I can't remember much about my time playing it, so overall my interactions with the older games have all been negative like that. Meanwhile New Leaf and New Horizons, while I have some bad memories of the later already, all reset issues, I have been enjoying the characters for the comedic and fun dialogue, while also having gameplay that is actually fun. For me, I am on the side that says in a GAME you need to ALWAYS put gameplay first. it's why I rather disliked Undertale. It's story and characters were great, but the gameplay was terrible. However with new Leaf and New Horizons, I feel like they made a good balance between characters and story with gameplay.

They do react if you hit them enough times. Not that I would know, I just saw videos of people hitting Moose until he cried lol :'(

I am happy to report that Redd is alive and well! He is currently peddling his wares in one of my New Leaf towns. Since he travels by train, it may take a while to build a bridge to all these islands.

I really hope they reintroduce artwork to this game. I love going to art museums and seeing famous paintings and sculpture that was featured in the previous games. With the graphics improvement I'd loooove to see some famous pieces in HD.

^^ same. it’d really suck if artwork and redd were wiped from the game completely

OMG, I had a brilliant idea. Imagine, instead of a tent, he now has a boat he sells his wares on, which docks at the pier.

We don't have paintings/art right now either, so it's probably related.

He may get added back in via an update, but he may not. We just don't know right now.
