i reset today and am hell bent on not time traveling. what do you do to keep yourself busy when you want to play the game, but there's nothing to really do yet? i've made some hybrid fields with both native and non-native flowers. i've been catching sea bass on repeat for an hour or so...

what do you do to keep busy? in a time travel-adverse scenario

i mainly do some fishing and bug catching for bells - i might also shake some trees to get some branches/bells/a furniture item

Chop wood, make furniture, hit nook miles + goals once they're unlocked. Look for any nook miles goals I'm close to achieving and try to take care of those, things like that.

I don’t time travel either so I had this same thought at the start as well! Currently, I’ve been fishing to get bells for my bridges/inclines/house and also to fill my critterpedia. Another thing I do is trade on these forums for stuff I want! Plus, visiting some member’s islands in the Airport category is always fun! (๑>◡<๑)

Edit: Material collecting is also a good idea and I try to do that a lot as well!

I time traveled a lot in new leaf but have decided to not this time around. And with this current state the world is in I have lots of free time but still manage to be entertained. Your town is bare so use this time to plan your layout, really take your time with planting your trees all nice and such. Go to mystery islands, maybe make tarantula island. For your first week there are many goals you can strive for like building the museum. And there's also mini goals to earn nook miles. You can also visit other people's towns or they can visit yours. The possibilities are endless you can do whatever your heart desires which is why I love this game! Hope you have fun!

I just grind for miles. I’m addicted to mystery tours and visiting islands to recruit my upcoming villagers so I waste A LOT of tickets. When I’m grinding for miles, I tend to play the entire day. Time is never enough. Miles are expensive but I want my dreamies. :(

I've been saving bells. After I do any shopping, I take the rest and divide it between my loan and savings. I'm going to need money for moving houses/buildings, bridges, inclines, etc.

Also grinding miles. A lot of them are catching fish or bugs, so that's 2-in-1. If I make more than 12,000 bells from an island trip, I count it a profit.

Moving trees and flowers, so I'll be ready for when I start shifting larger structures. I can get a lot of prep work done when the store is closed.

I've yet to experience this feeling. I don't have enough time/energy to do everything I want to accomplish in the game each day.

I do material gathering when I find myself wondering on what to do; you can never have too many materials!

I also just love to fish on the beach to pass time and earn some easy bells.

I don't TT and honestly I can spend hours in the game. I'm either: doing my daily tasks (fossils, fishing, bug catching, talking with neighbors, etc), decorating my island (which many times means moving around buildings, setting up bridges, etc), going to mysterious islands to get flowers, planting flowers to get hybrids, getting Nook Miles, taking pics, etc.

Oh man, what don't I do?! There is just constantly too much I am working on. Especially now that I am working towards a 3-star town.

Catching extra bugs and fish for the models mostly while selling what I can for the debts.
