I have great news! [POSSIBLE SPOILERS]

So, everyone's been pretty bummed out about the whole native flower thing and only being able to obtain 3 without trading and stuff. Well I have great news! For time travellers atm anyway. I found out that once you upgrade the nook shop you have a chance of getting flower seeds of flowers you don't have! I only had Hyacinths, Windflowers, and Pansies (which are my main), and in my store I found both tulips and roses! So keep trying guys!!

Stupid question, sorry - but what is this about only being able to obtain 3 please? Native flowers roses, obtained windflowers and tulips through both shop and nook miles islands, but this'd totally explain why I haven't found any others yet! Is it the same with fruit? Native fruit peaches, only obtained apples and coconuts so far. Very interested to know and thanks for the info about this happening when upgrading Nook's

From what I've experienced and read online, your town has a native flower, and a native fruit. And the following is put in place:

- Your Nook Island Ticket tours appear to have only your native fruit and a secondary non-native fruit, as well as Coconuts.
- Your Nook Island Ticket tours appear to have only your native flower and a secondary non-native flower.
- Your Nook's Cranny initially only has your native flower, and two non-native flowers in a rotating stock for a total of three flower types.

All this is basically in place to promote visiting and trading with other players online.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's mostly the same with fruit, except my native fruit is pears, I got peaches in the mail from my "mom", and I found oranges And coconuts on a nook miles island. I got cherries and apples from friends

My native flowers are windflowers and I have mums and cosmos in my shop, but once (and only once) I found my shop selling lillies. I don't have the shop upgrade so it seems like it's possible with the 1st Nook store but is probably rarer.

I was actually wondering this! I had pansies, cosmos and hyacinths in my store. Suddenly got tulips too. The store is actually under construction today, so I lowkey hope I can get roses and lillies tomorrow in the updated Nook shop.

My Nook store hasn't been upgraded but I suddenly got Pansy's today

I usually have Roses, Tulips and Hyacinths

I noticed that when you sell non-native flowers to Timmy and Tommy, they start selling the seeds for these as well, even when they aren't upgraded.
Yesterday, I sold some cuttings of some windflowers (my native flowers are tulips, Hyacinths and pansies) I accidently picked. And the next day I was able to buy these seeds fro the shop!

So maybe it is possible to get all the flower types without trading, and we just need patience for them to turn up?

I hope! And I hope after they show up the first time its not “insanely rare” for them to show up after either..I am still so curious as to what triggers it/how this thing works.. maybe you need to have a certain amount in your town/sell a certain amount of blooms? (If they’re your 4 non assigned ones) or maybe it really is just pure dumb luck.

I haven't sold any flowers to them, so I don't think that's connected...
I have 3 main types that are being sold basically daily in my store (my native and 2 others). I only encountered the 4th type once since starting to play, and the 5th type showed up today, so I do think it'll be very rare to find them unfortunately.
I'm also really curious as to how this all works :/

Today, Timmy and Tommy were selling Windflowers! It's the 5th flower type I now have access to. I only have the initial Nook's Cranny. It's rather interesting to me that everyone seems to be getting new flowers around the same time, regardless of whether they TT and where they are in the game. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it is kinda weird.

I just got my 5th type today from Nook's Cranny and it hasn't even upgraded yet! Orange and White Wildflowers, hope they'll sell me some Roses and Mums soon.

Yeah I got hyacinths today, non-upgraded shop, which is my 5th type. Although only seemed to be getting roses (my native), pansies, tulips, and windflowers till today - and iirc windflowers weren't showing up at all at first, so maybe they stagger the available types so the longer you play the more become available? Just a guess though - anyway so excited to have hyacinths!! Wonder if these will ever show up on islands now, or if they're strictly shop available? Cheers
