I'm loving every second. Time seems to go by so quickly when playing. Today will be my island town's second day. I hope another villager moves in.

I have enough soft and hard wood for Nook's Cranny (no joke intended), but I'm having a hard time getting iron nuggets. The rocks don't regenerate their resources fast enough like the trees.

The tools breaking are kind of a pain in the butt but I hope there are tools that never break down the line.

No luck on catching a tarantula (one appeared on the title screen though 😂). Also found a bunch on white bugs on one the black rocks on the beach but didn't catch one. I could have sworn I swing my net right in the center of them.

Also what's up with small squirts of water coming out of the sand? Is that a fish or insect?

Here is my town:

The small water squirties from the sand are real beach creatures where I grew up in Canada, we called them “gooey ducks” they look disgusting if you dig em up, but you stomp near them and they squirt water out! Haha!

Wow that island layout is soo awesome! For me this is 3rd day I think! I am waiting to unlock the store. Also I started decorating the beach! with hay and stones haha

Ah man, your pond is on the other side which sucks. I hope you get the stick to jump over to the other side soon! A goldfish is something you want to have in your museum but also in your house!

im having an absolute blast, have spent 2 days non stop fishing and bug catching. Ive got to say, the two player mode is actually really good, em and my mate just took turns changing leader and spent the entire time catching bugs and fish, im looking forward to getting the museum and nooks cranny tmoz, currently have a giant pile of bugs and fish waiting to be donated haha.

I absolutely love it! It feels so different and like something totally new but at the same time so perfectly Animal Crossing. I’m really pleased <3

I love it. I love how everyday there is a new thing to discover, no matter how hard you try to progress in the previous day. I have a habit of not being able to control myself when it comes to unlocking things so I actually really appreciate how slow the game takes things. Despite there being "not much to do" I still play all day lol. I've really taken a liking to fishing recently. It's just so calming, especially with the beautiful scenery in the background.

Same here!
I can't put it down! Even when I'm not playing, I watch streams of other people playing it... ^^'

Eventhough you are rather restricted the first few days, time just flies by when fishing, catching bug, etc...
I've made it a point not to time-travel even if I can barely wait to unlock more stuff. It's just so nice waking upe everyday, knowing that there will be something new to do on your island. It's also really satisfying watching your island develop, day by day.

Honestly I was on the fence about the whole crafting mechanic, but I’m absolutely loving it. Its so fresh but still feels so Animal Crossing. Currently just enjoying fishing/bug catching while I wait for my museum to open tomorrow.

loving it! i can barely put it down, and when i force myself to take a break im always on here, reading abt it, or watching other people's streams lmao, LOVE the new crafting mechanic

I'm so freaking happy with it so far. And to think I've not even scratched the surface of it! I just love that you can put down furniture everywhere and make the whole island your own eg. decorate your neighbours yards and build on their personality that way. Also loving the decorating tool for inside your house.
Seriously any new discovery feels like a genuine improvement from NL. <3

I am having a blast! The first day felt a little underwhelming but coming into my second day now, it is absolutely fantastic. I’m having so much fun discovering new additions in this game, exploring my island, catching bugs and fish, etc. I can’t wait to progresss even further!

i stayed up all night just to play this,, i am a slave to the animals but i’m happy lmao

I'm on my second day and I enjoy it so far. The first day had a lot more to do, but at the same time the second day was just as lackluster. The current shopping situation kinda sucks, but all the other new features are a lot of fun. The best part is that when you shoot presents down from the sky, you might actually get an amazing looking piece of clothing! That's what I did earlier, I'm so shocked that I got a really cool top for free.

I'm not enjoying as much as I anticipated. Animal Crossing has always been about grinding, but between Nookmiles and crafting I feel it's excessive. I know the theme is working on a deserted island from the bare bones, but I hate having to keep collecting materials just because my tools break and I hate having to keep doing repetitive tasks to get Nookmiles.
Also, I always liked more the urban side of the game such as the City in CF and Main Street in NL, and knowing most of the characters will just pass by the island instead of setting up their shops is kinda eh to me.
I'm still excited to keep playing and see how things evolve, but I'm not nearly as ecstatic as I thought I would feel playing these first couple of days.
Some of the special characters not making a return is also a big pet peeve. I get they will most probably introduce them in subsequent updates, but why? Previous games were full in content from the get-go (leaving aside the Welcome Amiibo update as it was an afterthought) and that didn't make them any less fun.

Huh, it's ok.
