Yeah, listening to music is nice, but have you ever thought of listening to ambient noises just to clear your mind and take a break from listening to music? I personally find it relaxing especially when I've had a long session listening to music.

To answer my own question, I listen to ambient noises of public transportation in subways and trains (yes, it's weird. Call me a trainiac). As a person who grew up taking public transportation and still do, I get a little nostalgic on the small details (such as seats, colour schemes, and door chimes) and vehicles that have retired years ago. You can go ahead and say that public transportation can be horrible sometimes, but I'm still thankful there's a method getting around if you don't have any other means to do so.

My hall neighbor complaining at odd hours about locking the door, and various things regarding the mail. Not by choice.

My favorites are rain, strong winds, fans/heaters, and my guinea pig puttering well he eats.

10 hour white noise videos when I can't have my fan blowing 24/7 in the summer.

my favourite is the sound of the rain or the constant noise that my fan makes :3

I always use a white noise app to fall asleep to at night—specifically, I listen to “airplane cabin”. There’s something very soothing about that deep droning to me.

Can’t recommend layering the sound with “roaring fire” though. That happened to me once accidentally, and I only realized it half an hour into feeling inexplicably stressed out. I guess a burning airplane ambience does that to you!

Fan noise but only when the lights go out cause I can't sleep in silence. Normal times I just keep the air conditioner on

Rainy/thunderstorm sounds, and brown noise. (like white noise but low pitch, it sounds kinda like a waterfall)

Rain, my AC when I'm in my room or when I'm out traveling, a fan to make noise.

I used to be able to sleep in complete silence, but after sleeping with a fan too often when out traveling, and when the main central AC went bust and I had to get a window shaker, I can no longer fall alseep to silence. Don't know what I'm gonna do during hurricane season if the power goes out.

When im in the mood or if they just pass-by trains since we live right next to a track haha, it actually relaxes me most of the time and the bed vibrating gives me relaxing feels too :') its like a massage w/ a sound you feel familiar w/ lol.

Forest sounds. Sometimes a clear day, sometimes night rain. Dungeon ambience is neat too when you're in the mood.

my dorm's radiator is old so it makes a weird banging sound in the middle of the night. I've gotten so accustomed to it i find it relaxing

Church bells from a distance. I like that resonance that lasts after each ring.

I really like water ambience, like the rain or a river rushing or underwater sounds. I listen to YouTube videos of this nature sometimes. I like spring noises too (gentle wind, birds chirping).

I always use thunderstorm tracks to sleep to. My dog and my husband snore like trucks so I primarily use it to drown them out. Though I'm probably so accustomed to it now that even if they didn't it would be hard to sleep without.

While on the desktop I generally listen to fireplace sounds or meditation bowls. It's relaxing.

Rain on leaves sound makes me nostalgic, and I also like listening to birds chirping, windy weather, rainstorms with thunder (when reading something spooky) and waterfall. Very relaxing. " ̄▽ ̄"
