[doHTML]

With E3 2006 right around the corner, a lot of us are anticipating the
press releases from different companies, some new games announcments,
videogame news in general, or all of that together. All three big
companies, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, look to be showing us a
stellar collection of games, and in Nintendo and Sony's case, systems.
E3 2006 is just in a couple of days, people!

Nintendo's
got a lot to talk about, including everything about the Wii, all of the
games for the systems, DS titles, and the last of the Gamecube titles.
Most people are anticipating Wii news more than any other, and for good
reason; Nintendo's got a lot to talk about, and they could, in
potential, win a lot of gamers over if they pull everything off. If
the last secrets of the Wii prove to be mindblowing, as many developers
have said, then Nintendo has great chances to win this console
generation. That's only the system itself; there are lots of games to
show off for it. Super Smash Bros. 3, Mario 128, Twilight Princess,
Animal Crossing Wii, Donkey Kong Wii (questionable), Kid Icarus Wii
(questionable), Metroid Prime 3, their cooking game, and lots more
others, some unannounced, of course! Not only this, but they have yet
to tell us specifics about the Virtual Console service, and what games
will be up for download exactly. We know that Sega and Hudson have
jumped on the bandwagon and will offer titles from their systems on the
Virtual Console, but this cannot possibly be the extent of the
downloading service. All classic games, plus new software, promises
Nintendo. We'll likely hear more about the online service Nintendo is
planning, too. And this is only the Wii; we have yet to hear more
about Phantom Hourglass for the DS, Kirby Adventure for the GCN, and
I'm sure there will be lots of unannounced games shown! All in all, it
looks like Nintendo's going to be the main attraction at E3 this time
around.
Sony's
got a lot to show for the PS3, as well. Although not as much as
Nintendo has to talk about with the Wii, Sony still has its share of
info to divulge; details on the download service that will offer select
Playstation 1 and 2 games, and the multiplayer games there will also
feature online play. We have yet to know the price and release date
for the PS3, as well, so that might be announced, too. A lot of info
about Sony's online plan will be discussed at E3 2006, as well, and I
predict that online play will play a crucial role in Sony's E3
presence. More info in third party games will be given, as well as
second party and first party. The PSP will also have a fairly large
presence, showing off its own version of Rachet and Clank, Lemmings,
and possibly Lumines 2! The PS2 will not have as much of a presence,
but who can resist the second iteration in the legenadry God of War
series? Overall, Sony's going to have a lot to show, and we barely
know what they'll show - Regardless, I'm sure they'll have some great
info for us!

The
360 will have the least presence when regarding the heavy hitters,
since the system is already out, and mainly games and perhaps a couple
of secret announcements will be discussed. The main game of the Microsoft's booth will most likely be Halo 3, although it will only be shown in video form. With rumors that the video will be more than 2 minutes, Halo fans will have something to watch. We'll also be seeing Gears of
War, Too Human, Viva Pinata, and more. Silicon Knights will probably
divulge the most important game related news regarding the 360, with
Rare closely following. We could also see Banjo-Threeie, or another
Rareware franchise. Games will be the main focus for Microsoft this
time around, and even though that's not much compared to the
competiiton, Microsoft will still have a lot to show and discuss.

All
in all, E3 will be awesome regardless of which company you love; if you
love more than one, you're in for a gigantic treat! Overall, I think
E3 2006 will be one of the best ever, especially since every big
company has a large presence; I haven't even talked about the third
parties, and I'm sure you're already excited! I can't wait for E3.

Why aren't you getting the Wii?

I bet that Nintendo will get most of the attention. 360 is already out, so nothing special there. And...well, PS3 is just a new system, nothing new, just a new system. I feel that everyone will need to know what Nintendo is planning. And that's why they are going to be a big hit there.

I know I'm getting Wii, no matter what! Nintendo Fanboy forever!

I know that the 360 is already out, but Halo 3 will be shown in video form, among other games that'll be shown in playable form.

As for the PS3, it's not 'just a new system'... Have you seen Sony's plans for online play? It'll be difficult to outdo that and Xbox Live, but hopefully Nintendo can accomplish this... But you're right; the Wii WILL steal the show, and this is because Nintendo has the most to show.

I don't know. I think it will cost alot. But theres a very very sure chance I will, because I have EVERY Nintendo system except the NES, Famicom and some other ones. Just Popularer consoles of Nintendo.
SNES, Gameboy (lost it), Gameboy Color, N64, Gamebow Advance, SP too, Gamecube, DS.

But I don't know how we will make room for another. We proboly will get it though.

I have heard nothing special about PS3...and Halo 3 would probably be one of the only things for 360...

It's going to be less than $299, that's confirmed, and there's a rumor that it'll be less than $200, so if you're worrying about price, no need to worry; Nintendo has said that they want to sell the system to people who can't afford $400 for a new system.

Here's the currently announced list of games for all three big companies -

Microsoft -

Crackdown (X360)
Gears of War (X360)
Mass Effect (X360)
N3: Ninety-Nine Nights (X360)
Too Human (X360)
Viva Pi

Ooh!! Yay! Then I think I'll even get a better chance of getting one. And my brother plays Nintendo systems too, so yeah, theres 2 of us who want a Wii.

:D

I don't know why Nintendo is trashing gamecube, TP that's it. Nothing, how come Nintendo still makes games for GBA? I don't know, they should continue making games for Gamecube.

They will be supporting the Gamecube two years after the Wii's launch... They have a new Kirby game in development, Twilight Princess, and rumor has it we'll see lots more GCN titles.

Man... I'm so ticked I got a Xbox. I wish I could have known they were gonna release I new one a year later.

But not much for the Gamecube....yet..
